I agree with you about the charm! However, the horse is growing on me in certain colors! Still, i would make my own. I have some pieces of leather i can use to make it. Maybe ill make it sooner than later and do a reveal!:biggrin::biggrin:
I saw a post on the Guys wearing Hermès thread (name of thread probably not correct) where somebody had a tiny leather horse made by a friend, on a bag. Looked much like the real thing to me, but I'm no Hermès expert. Maybe check it for inspiration

On the topic of transparent bags, I've never understood them either. I LOVE Celine, but this just makes no sense to me.

This is an actual bag?? Looks like a shopping bag [emoji15]

I wonder if maybe these women don't want to show the type of bag they're carrying...? It's a total guess on my end, but I think Parisian women do this a lot with their bags, especially the Chanel flaps.

A lot of us who are fortunate enough to have a Birkin or a Kelly carry them with the turn lock in to prevent smacking into folks and other objects with it, or to allow us to carry them a little more “under the radar”.

Bags that I don’t get
1) Chanel huge hula hoop beach bag

2) Balenciaga IKEA lookalike bag

3) Louis Vuitton (collection last year with the Mona Lisa print)

4) mulberry (the classic baywater one, it’s heavy and it looks super old! (It makes you look older then you are)

5) Tory Burch

What are your thoughts on the new plastic/transparent/PVC trend? I'm confused by it because everyone else seems to like it. What am I missing? Or is it as weird as I think it is?
I really don’t care for them. They just look cheap to me.
This thread was so much fun to read!

As for the Birkin, the part that I don‘t get is how anyone would pay 10k for a bag and then put one of those ugly ass Rodeo horse charms on it. It looks like something your child makes you buy at a school Christmas bazaar View attachment 4052777

I don’t get any bag charm, really. They all look like kid’s toys hanging off adult’s bags. I think the bag design should stand on its own without props and dohickeys. :-s So, when the charms start costing as much as another brand’s perfectly good handbag, I really just SMH. LOL!

Also, not a big fan of scarves and twillies on bags either. Or lots of glittery patches and appliqués. Just a little too cluttered of a look for me. I see charms, twillies and other add ons and just want to free the poor bag from it’s fussy little burdens.

I don't get bags with the short handles that are meant to be handheld and have no crossbody/shoulder strap option. They are often beautiful but how am I meant to get anything done if I have to hold it all the time?? Especially bags that have so much weight to them that you can't carry them in the crook of your arm longer than 10 minutes. Beautiful, but whhyyyyyyyy??
Also I have a weird thing against bags where the handles don't fold down.

hee hee! Yes, I concur. They just remind me of something a really old lady would carry. I think the only one who can rock these bags is the Queen Mum.

People are going to go "gaah, not again!" because I've used this pic a couple of times already but, yes, she rocks those bags

I'm a Gucci lover as well, and I must admit, the bags don't speak to my heart under Alessandro the way they did under Frida. There are a few that spoke to me [very specifically, the python bamboo top handle Dionysus, and the white/red Sylvie] and a few others that are ok, but not gotta have it. there is a white/black marmont i like, which is ironic because it puts me in the mind of the chevron bag, but I may ending up getting that at some point in the future. but generally speaking none none of the lines in total speak to me. I am very very excited about the recent Gucci craze...I wish i was in the middle of it butttt....it's certain bags from certain collections only, and definitely no personal craze...but I'm still sticking with Gucci over all else, hopefully it'll get better.

I cannot begin to explain how much I feel you on this one. Mr. Michele has killed Gucci for me and I have only bought 3 new bags since he took over. It just breaks my heart and although there is maybe 4 bags that I really like, the rest is horrid to me. I cannot see me sporting this glittered and jeweled out/poorly drawn animals/embroidered lips, insects and floral trend and I really think they look like they were meant as dress up play for children, kind of like a beadazzled kind of thing. I will wait this out and still hope and wish for him to venture out for new employment opportunities. I know I will be back someday. After all, Gucci is my first love.
