Bags you don't get

I think the blue goyard bags would look great with, say, nice jeans and a white turtleneck. Something coordinated and plain, where the bag could be the pow. But wearing it with anything that competes with it - well, the effect becomes “circus”.

But I suspect those that buy goyard primarily buy it because it isn’t the neverful. :P
I would agree. I actually think they look like plastic. I don’t have a Neverfull, but I’d choose it over the Goyard St. Louis.

This thread was so much fun to read!

As for the Birkin, the part that I don‘t get is how anyone would pay 10k for a bag and then put one of those ugly ass Rodeo horse charms on it. It looks like something your child makes you buy at a school Christmas bazaar View attachment 4052777

Definitely!!! So much so that every time I see one, I have to point it out to my SO because it just astounds me. Not that I have anything against plastic-bags (I own/carry/LOVE the Furla satchels! But they are also NOT $$$$...)

I have two LV canvas bags and the quality has been very good. I also have a crossbody by Haiku that is made of recycled plastic bottles ( you can’t tell, it just looks like a fabric bag). I carry it on vacations, rain, pool, beach etc. I only paid $30 for it though. I would pay almost $2,000.

I cannot begin to explain how much I feel you on this one. Mr. Michele has killed Gucci for me and I have only bought 3 new bags since he took over. It just breaks my heart and although there is maybe 4 bags that I really like, the rest is horrid to me. I cannot see me sporting this glittered and jeweled out/poorly drawn animals/embroidered lips, insects and floral trend and I really think they look like they were meant as dress up play for children, kind of like a beadazzled kind of thing. I will wait this out and still hope and wish for him to venture out for new employment opportunities. I know I will be back someday. After all, Gucci is my first love.
Yes, yes, YES! I loved Gucci bags...then the embroidered, sequined lips era was thrust upon us. And the non embroidered items aren’t calling to me. I’m hoping we’ll see a new designer at Gucci with a different sensibility sooner rather than later. It’s not awful. It just doesn’t make my heart sing.
