In the UK it is one K or B allowed per person between Jan and June or June and Jan and no more than 3 leather bags per season. My SA has always said it's per person not per couple.

In the states I'm told it's by couple, and if you try to circumvent this you could possibly lose your ability to buy anything in the back of the store again. Ever. So not worth it.
Has this ever happened to anyone and if so, how was the situation handled?
I placed order for an SO Birkin last month and I am already thinking of the next bag. What happens if I buy a bag now (B or K) and the SO comes in, in light of the bag limit? Can I not buy it and they sell it to another customer? Do they hold it and if so, do they hold it until the limit period is over for possibly as long as 6 months?
Second question, if your SO comes in but you are out of the country, will they hold it? Or will they move on to the next customer like a regular B/K?

I'm not too sure about your first question but for your second, in my past experience they will hold for about 2 months, maybe 3 if you are sure to be back in that time.
I just came back from my trip from Milan-Venice-Roma.
The SA in Milan Monte Napoleone is very helpful and she is Asian just like me(She is a indonesian) who works in the home department,
I manage to get a 35 Birkin and also a Kelly Relax from her just 3 days ago after buying 2 plates.She also offered me 3 different CDC which i gladly accepted.
I believe with the right moves,magic always happens.

In one shop? I know a friend managed to get 3 birkins in Germany with 3 passports (2 of hers and one of her husband's), one of the bags is an ostrich birkin.
She also got a jige, but I don't know how much else she bought to get them.
last year, my store didn't count my s.o. against the limit. this year, my s.a. said if ever he is not allowed to ring up my order because of the limit, he would hold it until the restriction is lifted. and he's waited a month for me to return from vacation. i'm not sure if that's H policy or merely a courtesy but if it's the latter, given that you were asked to place a special order, i assume your relationship with your sales associate is such that they would do the same thing. but why not ask your sales associate or store director so you can be sure?
I asked the same thing and was told they will hold the bag until your six month window is up. I personally find it hard to believe they would hold up a big ticket sale that long but this is Hermes we're talking about and stranger things have happened.
Additionally I was advised not to buy a birkin or kelly when I know there is an impending special order coming in. Just in case.

Audrey, in the US is the limit one B or K a year, or two? Per person I mean. One every six months, or just one a year? Thanks.

It's one birkin and / or kelly every six months based on the calendar year and not when you bought it. So it's January thru June and then July thru December. So theoretically you could buy a birkin on June 30th and then another one on July 1st.
