Bag Limits at Different Boutiques

I'm not sure what you mean by Manhasset not being connected to the website. They are listed as a boutique on the website.
Richards is in Greenwich, Cuffs is in Cleveland. Both are also listed on the website.

I know that KOP used to be a franchise store. It was not connected to the main H computer system. They had to change over when it became a company store. It was harder for them to get stuff then.

This rule is a myth. I bought a B within 6 months of the last and then special ordered a K within a month. I have a girlfriend who is married to a billionaire who buys in multiple. For sure it's a rule applied to make us believe there is scarcity - classic old school marketing.

I really wish H would embrace the 21st century and understand that we core, passionate lovers of the bags don't want fake scarcity - we want gorgeous, rare, interesting, handmade bags!

Got it. I'm not sure if the computers are connected....I know that they were not, but it may have changed over the last year. Manhasset is still privately owned.

Did you purchase your bags in the U.S. or overseas? I'm a good customer of a NY store and am bound and held to this rule to a fault. I'm ready to move to another city and change my name just to get even one more bag.

Hi all, just thought I can contribute some info with my first post.

QuelleFrommage is right, it's possible to buy more than 1 birkin every 6 months. Bought 2 in the last 4 months. But then again, been buying at the same store for a while (Paris), and not just bags (cashmere etc). Maybe the rule only applies to US stores?

Super hard to get a croc B every year though :( Croc Bs are simply amazing (especially porosus ones). Let me know if the croc limit is also a myth so I can have a word with the SA!!!

Hope this helps.

I have a friend who buys more than this quota in the US. I think Madison is stricter than some other stores. Well, at least one other store.

I am in the US. I think the rule is "malleable", just like special order rules. My husband tried to SO a Kelly from Hermes Beverly Hills and was told there was no such thing as a special order...I had had a SA trying to talk me into one just the week before (I always kind of liked the So Flash and I was being sold on an SO that would be similar but with a different contrast interior).
The Madison store though....they are really sticklers!

I would agree 1000 percent. I won't got into details but from what I heard, it totally blows a hole into the 1 bag per 6 months policy. It won't affect me because I'm not aiming to have a closet of birkins or kellys. II am content.

I think for the majority of people, there definitely is scarcity of Hermes bags. As much as I love my bags, it really isn't fair that some people are buying many, many bags and some people can't even get one. Obviously, a first world type problem but still...

I'm with jmen...really am content with what I can find/am offered.

i understand that no rule is set in stone but can anyone share their experience with bag limits in europe who does not reside there?

i will be traveling to europe soon and i had purchased a birkin in france (not in paris) 8 months ago. will i be denied another birkin (or any other leather bag for that matter) in france or even italy? thank you!

Over the Summer, I was told that you can purchase a B or K every 6 months. I do not know if it 6 months from when you actually purchased your bag if if there is a set cycle 2x's per year with in Hermes. Furthermore I was told that you can only purchase a total of two bags (regardless of type) per passport. I do not know if this echoes others experiences, but you can try reading through the thread and other members can definitely weigh in on their experiences. I hope you have a wonderful trip and that you can find (and purchase:graucho:) the bag of your dreams!

I was in Paris and was told by a sale that only 1 Bs or 1Ks per year, while the other sale said every six months. What's ridiculous is that the sale even emphasizied 1Bs, or 1Ks, or 1 Lindys or 1 constance. Other TPFers mentioned that you could ask your family member to buy for you, when I did that, (me and my husband were toghether, we didn't sepearate and pretend we didn't know each other), the sale said couples is counted as 1!!! It really took me by surprise, I asked her if this is a new rule, and she said firmly the rule has been in place for 2 years. Guess I just had bad luck to run into a bad sale on my last day.
