From a coworker about my pebbled leather Prada tote:

"Your bag looks like psoriasis"

:wtf: :wtf: ?!?! ... I was so shocked, I just raised my brows, shook my head & walked away... I eventually sold the bag b/c I couldn't look at it the same again. (My little nephew suffers terribly with psoriasis)

Honestly, I'm an English teacher and I had to look up what psoriasis was...I had a rough idea but had to do a bit more research...I'm so, so sorry that you're nephew suffers from this.

The comment you received was beyond poor taste. My God. People really have absolutely no respect. Your reaction was appropriate and kind in comparison to what I would have told that witch with a capital "B"!!!!

Hugs :hugs:

What a tasteless comment.

My stories are

1. New friend came to my room, and saw that I put my bag on my bed. She commented with not so good voice that "
Wow ... I'm so surprised you have to put the bag on the bed"' . Then after that she sat on my bags twice and she claimed she didn't intend to do so. Oh well.!!!

2. Another classmate and I were going out for drinks. She asked me to "carry" her "used shoes" in my bag for her. That bag she knew it was the first time I use it so it is very brandnew. Of course, I didn't do it for her.

I don't know what wrong with these people, but I'm certain there are lots of stories like this. Please share.!! TIA

I think it all comes down to spending priorities. My coworker asked the same $ question about my bag and gave that same old comment of her will never buy one.

I reminded her about the 2k bicycle that she bought Last month for the summer. She went on to say I would only use the same bag for at most one year. I told her she won't be riding this same bike for life....

Pewpew I feel sorry for you and damn What a tasteless comment your coworker made.

If I am friends with someone, I show respect for them, their property, and their choices. These people are not showing you any respect. If I were you I would start cultivating some new friendships and kick those two to the curb. It's a tough world out there, so surround yourself with people who support you, don't put up with ones who drag you down.

I can't remember who said it here but I really like the 'it's not an addiction, it's a hobby' comment.

Some people collect magnets, we collect bags haha

A former close friend implied that I was 'missing' something in my life, hence I buy bags. Needless to say she's no longer that close to me.

She collects jewellery, does that mean she's missing something in her life too?? Oh but wait ... That's different coz it's an 'asset' (according to her)

That is very rude! I agree with Florasun, they aren't good friends. And I don't think anyone would want their bag to smell like stinky feet, designer bag or not...

I think that is so true about the spending priorities. My bags will last me many years. My oldest designer bag is 7 years old and doesn't have any obvious signs of wear.

People think bags are negligent....if you spend lots of money on golf, scuba diving, coin collections or electronics people will always see it as better.

I have close friends who would call my bags and wallets ugly in a joking way, not sure if that's their honest opinion since we do have pretty different styles. I'm not THAT offended because we're close enough and we jokingly insult one another all the time lol.

One time, though, after seeing my new wallet (while we were shopping together), one of my friends ran into the store from which I got the wallet, found it, and announced the price of my wallet to our group of friends (and in my presence, like 'hey your wallet was $xxx, right?). I was mortified! I mean I don't mind my friends knowing how much I paid for my wallet but for some reason what she did just annoyed me so much, it even felt obscene and distasteful :x

Another time, my other friend who previously insulted my new wallet (that same wallet) and said she didn't like the brand, etc (albeit jokingly) showed up two weeks later with her new wallet from *gasps* THE SAME BRAND! So I asked 'oh I thought you didn't like the brand?' And she was all 'yeah but my mum bought a bunch of wallets from them and I had to pick one so I picked the least ugly one.' (I know right?) And then proceeded to say something along the lines of 'although our wallets are from the same brand yours is ugly but mine is not'. Can you imagine how many times I had to roll my eyes that day oh god.

That is the WORST made-up story from a 'friend' that I've ever heard! Wow. I would have said, "Honey, you need to work on your mask making cos the one you're working now is totally see through."
