Bag Inserts List: New Updates post #4,032

It’s a bit challenging - I got a cheap Etsy bag organiser just because I didn’t like having uneven bulges when I chose to fill the Mini Evelyne directly, but the annoying thing with inserts is that it tends to leave an indentation mark at the top where the organiser ends. So to mitigate that, I tend to leave the snap closure unbuttoned. I mean, the closure is about as useful as a chocolate teapot in any case, so there you go…

I didn’t really want to spend too much on a new insert, and although my go to would have been MaiTai or WhiteFox, I think the design of the Mini Evelyne means that indentations are probably unavoidable?

Your insert appears to be a thicker felt. I wonder if a thinner felt would create less of a seam? I experienced the same with one of my other bags, then replaced the organizer with a thinner one and, voila!

Would you recommend Mai Tai for custom inserts?

I have used both brands and liked both. For my swift KP, I used DGAZ and it is fine—maybe because I only put the insert in when using the bag and removed it and put in bag pillow for storage. My bag pillow is also from
Thanks for sharing. Didn’t occur to me that we shouldn’t leave inserts in during storage. Did the pillow works in providing support, and will it stretch the leather?
I use MaiTai inserts in all of my H bags because they gently shape the bag and they do not leave indentations or marks in the bag. And I love the fabric she uses! She has been absolutely wonderful to work with as well
Agree! I’ve a few of her inserts for Togo, Epsom and Clemence bags and they work so well. No indentation and they offer adequate support. Hope it works the same for swift.
I’ve been using Mai Tai only for all of my Birkin and Picotin bags. However, my friend strongly recommended Dgaz for my mini Evelyne so I tried but regretting it big time! I took the mini Evelyne with me to my trip in Asia and kept the Dgaz insert in for like 2 weeks. Only used my mini Evelyne for a few times but it left indentations on my bag. I got freaked out and removed the insert and gave it away to my friend. Will switch back to Mai Tai only for sure.

Oh my! I see the problem now. The insert is shorter. I do have an Evelyne but in size 29 and the insert is longer, almost reaching the top. Didn’t give me any indentation.
Hi. I second @nat74. I’ve tried arcdiary and dgaz for my mini Evelyn and mini bolide. They both seem to be from the same company and both brand leave indentations where the corners of the insert sit on the bag. I suggest maitai. If maitai offers insert for the mini Evelyn and mini bolide I wouldn’t have bought dgaz or arcdiary. Maitai uses a much softer material and offers a more gentle structure.
Thanks dear! MaiTai, it is.

I can't seem to find inserts for a 1923 Bolide 25. (Looked at MaiTai and 7RP). Am I just blind?!?!

Also, I originally bought a cheap insert for my Pictotin 22 and there's definitely a crease, looking to upgrade it now after all these comments!!

I use the 27.

The pillow works AMAZING, better than insert in my opinion

For my K35, I will be more comfortable filling it up and the insert should help keep the Clemence leather from getting too stretched out. But as the shape of the insert is quite square, I do see a line in the middle of the bag from the insert. Another thing is that I find the pockets too small - instead of 3 tiny pockets on each side I would have preferred two larger pockets. I also wish the insert was higher.

The same applies for my B30, although the insert distorts the bag way more than with the K when fully closed. It bothered me at first, but since I never close the bag when carrying it this is not a big deal. However, I certainly would not leave the insert in during storage for this reason.

Surprisingly, the insert for the K25 is much better - the shape is more trapezoidal and even the fabric is nicer (unfortunately MaiTai did not have the same fabric options available for each model). I do not notice the insert at all from the outside, but that could also be because the bag is more rigid than the others. The downside is that the insert is thick, so it eats up quite a lot of room inside. Without the insert I could fit my long silk'in wallet but with the insert I have to switch to a calvi.

Finally, DGAZ was the only viable option for the 24/24 mini as I hate the feeling of felt, so Samorga and the like are a no go for me. Took longer to receive it as it came from China. The material is satiny and the shape is quite square, which I thought would be visible from the outside since the bag is quite soft but actually it's OK. It seems to fill the bag up well and while I am not sure that I will use the pockets much as they don't seem very secure because of the material, overall it should do the job of protecting the inside. Just to be safe, I will keep the insert outside to prevent the square corners from leaving any indent on the bag.
