Can you please explain why most of you don't like epsom? I want to buy a b35 GHW (don't know the colour, probably beige/grey) and i like very structured bags. I do not want to lose its shape. I want it to look stiff. I know that epsom is the best leather for that, but everybody says that togo is better. Why? Togo holds its shape?
I think for some it's quite simply because they don't like the feel / look of Epsom. It's more plastic-y and less leathery / luxurious. People can also be fine with Epsom in SLGs or certain bags (for example, Constances - where the scratch-resistant nature of Epsom is really useful because of the bag closure design) but prefer to have a more pleasing leather in other cases. It can also depend on bag sizes. There's also this problem with Epsom becoming "wavy" or wrinkled as a flip side of its rigidness, see here:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/gold-epsom-birkin-wavy-leather.1016985/. Also Epsom bag corners can wear faster. Finally I believe many say that Epsom spas less well - not that it can't be spa'ed at all, but maybe there are cases where it's more difficult due to Epsom being an embossed leather. I'm actually not super certain on how true that since I've got no first-hand experience on spa-ing Epsom & we've got some reports of people managing to get their Epsom scratches fixed!
The whole debate on Epsom is a quite commonly brought up topic, check this thread for some more opinions, specifically on Togo vs Epsom:

Here's an old thread that should still be useful with some information:

Probably there are even more if you search the forum
But honestly I think for most of us it's just how it looks lol
HTH. I would like to remind you though to not let what others like affect what you like. I do think we here on tPF tend to dislike Epsom more than general too. If this leather isn't liked by many, H would not be using it this much!

If you like how Epsom looks / its properties (many of which are very useful), go for it!
