Authenticate4U.com experiences?

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

I think the issue is that people shouldn't have to either file a dispute or request a refund. If a service can't be provided then the company concerned should be refunding without having to be chased. It sounds like a fair few people are having issues and that this isn't just a "blip".

I wonder how much income has been generated in unfulfilled requests? It's a small amount per authentication so I bet an awful lot of people just write it off rather than chasing for a refund. A few years ago now I even got a "we don't know" response to an authentication and no refund was offered.

I agree. My post was not meant to defend authenticate4u. Filing a dispute seems like might be an even bigger headache for the other user. My post was just to let her know that Lesley (or whoever is on the other end) will refund your money if you ask. At least they did it for me once or twice in the semi recent past.

Agree & wonder how much business comes their way as a result of this forum
that hasn't been addressed as expected

I think it IS being addressed. You're seeing people here on tpf that are asking about refunds. I think that says it all.

I don't hold Vlad, Megs or tpf as a website responsible for the actions of a third party company. Nor do I think anyone else should, yet that's what you are implying. If I misinterpreted, I'm sorry, but I don't think we can blame tpf for the failures of A4U to follow up with their clients.

It's their reliability that is at question here, not their ability to be knowledgeable and provide accurate authentications.

just a quick update, as suggested by other TPFers, I contacted authneticate4u through facebook, and got response within a few hours, and have gotten the confirmation email. I think contacting them through facebook is indded the best way.

I don't think people requesting a service as instructed per their website should have to track a business down through Facebook to get a response. That is not in their detailed instructions for submitting an authentication request; and what about people who do not use Facebook? If their systems were down and customers got an email saying the systems were up again, shouldn't A4U have a contact info for submissions? They should contact all customers who have waited weeks and give them an update and see if they'd like their money refunded.

+1...they should... they just seem to experience many more delays
& issues than other authentication services seem to have & when you
are expecting a response with regard to a ebay case, time is of the essence

This thread was started almost three years ago and people are still complaining about not getting a response and suggesting Facebook is the best way to reach them. Something is not right with this company's business practices.

You are right, something is very wrong, however, for many they hold
Authentication4U in high regard...& thus will tolerate the
delays or unresponsiveness...

It seems like Facebook is the best way to reach out to them NOW
as their seems to be continuous issues with their website & why
should people who pay for a service have to ask perhaps more than
once when can they expect their authentication(s) & if a response
is not received in a timely manner ,how to do they go about getting a refund when
communication leaves much to be desired?

I don't think people want to tolerate the delays etc. However, at least, they are accurate. I have always supported them for authentications. but am not happy about how it is being run for now. Hoping, either they can remedy this or that there is another reliable authentication service. For now, I don't know. I know some to avoid and hate to add them to that list. :(

Communication is one of the keys to a successful business especially
in cases where it involves Ebay & a time frame.

There are times when authenticate4u has fallen short... It happens
but it seems to happen more frequently with this service than others
& buyers/sellers can be frustrated when they are not getting the
responses they need &compounded by the fact that if you pay for the
service & don't get a response, it can be annoying to get your
fee returned.. And also understand that requests made may be lacking
info as well to cause delays...but still , communication sets the tone
& it is a service business

+ 1....I agree! The issues need to be addressed no matter how good they are. they're not providing service in a timely fashion and offer no updates or responses to requests for updates. Until the communication issue is fixed, they cannot be considered a good business.
