Got it. Thanks! Yeah, it's more for selling. It's the only item I don't have 100% confidence in. I bought it at a discount boutique in San Francisco years ago. The store seems legit, I mean they're still around but I just found out recently that I might have bought a fake Manolos from them. Lol. I never really paid attention plus like I said the store took pride in selling designer brands for super cheap, not because they're fake. I don't know. If this Gucci purse turns out to be a fake, I'm gonna have to contact the store & ask "what's up with that?"

If you have the authentication done, & indeed the Gucci bag is fake,
it needs to go back to the boutique.

As you mention since the purchase was made years ago, you may
not have recourse. If you are a regular customer there, you might be
able to work something out.

Good luck...

In that case, pay for the $7 (or $7.50) authentication and if it comes back as authentic, you can state it in your listing. Once you've listed it, email a4u back with a link to the listing and if someone asks them whether they gave it the "thumbs up," they'll let them know.

Note that a4u has been having a few problems with both forged authenticity letters and sellers who have stated in listings that items were authenticated when they were not.

This thread discusses a seller who actually posted a whole forged and manufactured document purporting to be from authenticate4u:

Another case was a newbie seller (very low feedback and no selling history) claiming her Chanel bag was authenticated when it was not. (I emailed a4u to ask about it and it was confirmed that the bag was NOT authenticated.)

It may take a little longer to receive a confirmation. I received an email from Lesley two days ago apologizing for the delay because they have lost a Gucci Design Associate and now have only 1 in staff for now.

Ok. I paid the $7.50 fee, sent e-mail with pictures. I hope I hear from them soon enough.

Since it's been years when I bought the purse & shoes, and I don't live in SF anymore, I can't really do much.

What the heck?!?! I sent the request on the 24th, I got an e-mail from Lesley on the 26th letting me know somebody will be sending me the E-mail Evaluation that my purse is indeed authentic. Today is the 28th & I'm still waiting! I've e-mailed Lesley for follow up but no words from her either.

Is this normal?!?!

IIRC she's been having some issues with her computer/internet of late - also bear in mind, it IS the weekend and there is a time difference.......please be patient, I'm sure she will be in touch soon and that there is a logical explanation.

Another consideration is that because she has multiple brand specialists and they're all over the world, there are time differences. Also, with multiple authenticators, they are performing the service as their personal responsibilities allow. As I understand it, once the authenticator submits an opinion, A4U compiles it into a report back to the client.

According to your OP, you submitted your request on Sept. 24. So if Lesley doesn't do Gucci, she submits pictures to her Gucci person/people. Depending on that person's response time and time zone, Lesley might not get an immediate response. And then, if there's the possibility of an item being a "good" fake or if the authenticator isn't sure, rather than just issue a refund, A4U will take the extra step to have another set of eyes look at it. Again, that adds a bit of time to the turn-around time.

Accurate authentications can take more time than you sometimes want to wait but isn't it better to wait a bit longer (for whatever reason) and know that you can trust what they tell you?

Again, those of us who have used them have had fast turnarounds.

I can vouch from experience that the slight delays that they are experiencing this week are out of the ordinary. We have had hundreds of items vetted by authenticate4u and the vast majority of them come through within a 48 hour period. I know that Lesley has had some server issues this week as well as several other minor affairs that have caused temporary delays. Rest assured that anytime that there may be a delay in a certificate it does not seem to go unnoticed by Lesley and you should be able to expect something to come through soon. I hope this helps :sunshine:

There is something weird going on with email between the US and Europe. I swear. I have had emails from farfetch and YOOX go missing this week, too. Their CS swears they sent them but I have nothing.
