I was not thinking of the pre-sale. Sorry. I was just thinking of post-sale.
It would be a shame to miss out on a deal; I do understand. As posted above, thankfully, the ladies here are sooooo helpful!
I really do hope A4U can get more timely in its responses as they really are the best, imo.

I usually post here too for pre sale authentications and I do it days before the listing ends so there's ample time. And If I don't get a response here or it's a commonly super faked bag I will send it to get checked post sale to A4U, and if it takes me more time than that's fine. No service will ever be perfect but I'd rather use smart planning than risk my reputation and money with a bad authenticator [emoji54]

I posted here 7 days before the listing ended. I received conflicting opinions and that's why I decided to pay for the A4U service which is advertised as a FAST, pre-purchase service. According to their website, the target audience is indeed the buyers, not the sellers.

They definitely owe you a refund.
If that's how they're marketing that service, they need to cut that turn-around speed down to a couple days at the most. 7 days is too long for nearly any auction and most BIN sales as somebody else may grab the item while you're waiting..

Update:

A4U issued a refund after I filed a paypal dispute case.

I didn't want to go that route but I didn't hear anything from them after I sent a very polite email.

I think they have the expertise but somehow they have a backlog which is too much for them to handle.

Glad that you got your refund & it does sound like Authenticate4U may be
experiencing some issues.

I have used A4U in the past multiple times and, until recently, I was very happy with them, but I sent in and paid for 5 requests for authentication more than two months ago with no result. I have also sent several follow up emails asking for updates and have either gotten no response or been told that they would be looked into. At this point I am so frustrated, because I know they are reputed to be the best, and I was always happy with my experience, but they have completely lost my trust. I also have a few more bags, now that I need to get authenticated, and I don't know where to try next, since so many other authenticators have bad reputations, too.

I guess my only recourse at this point is to try to get my money back through PayPal, since they still haven't done the authentications that I requested.

If you haven't received your authentications by now, obviously there is
a problem so I would contact paypal for reimbursement.

You can do a search as there are several other authenticators that
are well regarded..

***************** is the LAST service I'd recommend.

What is the brand of the item you're wanting authenticated.

Ditto!

Fakespotters is another. However, as BB said, it depends on the designer brand. Some services are more versed in the Super Fakes of the various design houses than others. ***************** can't even identify the obvious fakes, much less the Super Fakes.
