Authenticate4U.com experiences?

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

What emailing system/internet provider are they using, does anyone know? They seem to have a lot of frequent email & technical issues and they are in UK after all, not in the middle of Sahara.

Dear TPF users,

Who has an experience with authentic4u?
I sent the payment for their service on July4 and got a reply that

"Hi
Thank you for your email and photos. Also for your PayPal payment which has been received.
This item is now out for authentication, and once I have the result, I will be in touch.
Do let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for choosing Authenticate4U.com"

I sent a follow-up email on July11, and got the auto-reply.
then I sent a follow-up email on July18, and got the auto-reply again.

I've checked my inbox, junk box, spam box, etc. everyday but there is no result reply from them T__T

Should I wait more or should I report the problem in the Resolution Centre via Paypal to claim my payment?

Thanks ^^

I was hoping someone who have used A4U before could help me out.

I am looking to authenticate my first ever designer handbag that I purchased preowned off of Ebay with A4U.

I have researched and came to the conclusion that Authenticate4U would be the best agency to use for their wonderful expertise and knowledge.

I browsed through their website and I can see that I am able to send payment for the $7.50 email evaluation directly from their payment facilities via paypal.

Do I email my authentication request and pictures right after submitting payment or do I need to wait 24 hrs ect..?

How would I show proof that I've already paid so that I can get my bag authenticated? Will the authentication itself be done via a separate email after submitting payment?

Please advise me on the correct way to go about this so that I can get my bag authenticated as smoothly as possible. TIA!

You send them a separate email with the pictures (or a link to an album of pictures) after you've submitted payment.

I think it's best to email them the pictures from the email address associated with your PayPal account. You can also copy the PayPal transaction ID and tell them your name as it appears on the PP account in the body of the message. You can send the pictures immediately after you send payment. No need to wait. :)

Hope that helps!

Hi, I was wondering if you got your answer from A4U in the end?

You send them a separate email with the pictures (or a link to an album of pictures) after you've submitted payment.

Thank you for the info. I got my bag yesterday so I will be submitting it for authentication now :) I hope everything will go smooth and all will be authentic and good!

Does anyone know if there are delays lately? I submitted my bag on Saturday August 2. I had already paid and included the transaction ID, name, etc. in the body. I know they were closed that day but I didn't hear anything on Sunday or today. Sorry to seem impatient lol

Yes, I had a very frustrating experience with them recently. I sent payment and then sent over my photos. I got some reply email that they were doing some kind of server work or something. I waited a couple days and nothing. I asked to cancel the authentication and for a refund and heard nothing back for several more days. I had to send another email in order to get a refund. Now in your case, you sent it on a Saturday and yesterday was Sunday. They'll probably get to it today but it might be worth a follow up email.

They don't work weekends. Also remember that you submitted it on a non-working day so they will only have "seen" it today and sent it out for authentication today. The authenticator needs time to get back to them with the opinion (authenticator could be in a different time zone to the company) and for it then to go through admin to be emailed back to you. I doubt you will now hear anything today as it's 1730 UK time at the point of me posting this and think they really only work office hours (in the UK that's 0900 to 1700).

That said, do chase it up. Have always had excellent service from them in the past but the last couple of authentications I have sent in I've had to chase up after a few days and never did receive the PDFs, just the email authentication (which was all I needed so no great issue to me but appreciate it could be for some people).

+1

I've submitted my bag on Friday August 1 and I too had already paid, included transaction ID, name, photos, ect. in the body of the email as well. I right away got the automatic reply that they were close on Saturday August 2 which is fine since I also know they don't work on weekends.

I am concerned because now would be almost 6pm on Monday for them in the UK and so they had all day of operation yet haven't actually responded to me to let me know that they at least got my payment and my email of the photos of my bag.

I've just sent them a follow up email and got the same automatic reply: "PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR OFFICE IS CLOSED ON SATURDAY AUGUST 2 2014. WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED."

It is a bit frustrating because since I've paid on Friday August 1, I've only ever gotten two of the same exact automatic replies. No thank you for the payment, we will contact you soon or anything like that. I am also sorry for the impatience but I only have 14 days to return my bag if it turns out to be not authentic so I am nervous they won't get back to me on time.

May I ask you since you've gotten a refund, how did you get your bag authenticated in the end?

They took so long to get back to me that the bag was no longer available and I no longer needed the authentication. I had good luck with Carol Diva with the last bag I purchased but I know some on here do not like to use her.
