Gosh, I'm really afraid of these Elises on Ebay. =(

Ursula Elise in Blush:
eBay: Marc Jacobs Quilted Patent Leather Elise Bag in Blush (item 150032007530 end time Sep-12-06 20:38:09 PDT)
1. Wrong tag: should say GOAT LEATHER (for patent leather) instead of CALF LEATHER (smooth calf only)
2. Wrong eluxury price: $1050+tax instead of $950
3....

All wrong! Quilted Elise only came in Patent Leather for $1050 (not $1200)
Should be patent leather, cream canvas lining, gold hardware.

Looks fake to me, the leather is not the right quality for Ursula.

Red flag for sellers that sell only hot IT bags for less than $400. Dior Gaucho for less that $400, impossible! And she sells several Gucci Horsebit Hobos, unless she's an authorized retailer there's no way she can get that many.

Always use a forum to check auth before paying, and once you pay, use CC, like AMEX. Paypal sometimes helps, so it's better to use that than nothing. Never use Western Union, bank transfer, wiring, or BidPay because you're not protected.

If there is anything on Ebay you are considering purchasing, if there is even only 1 flaw, don't buy it. You're better safe than sorry.

I'm sorry this has become a learning experience for you, everyone here has been through something like this before. I myself got duped on a Gucci bag years ago before tPF came into existance. We all have to learn somehow.

My only last advice on your stam purchase is to call the police and file a claim, in your country and in hers. You have her information, correct? It's illegal to sell fake handbags, if you call and report it, the seller may be scared into giving you a refund. Can't hurt to try.

I know I'm asking the inevitable here, but could anyone tell about these mouse flat? I've been wanting them for a while but I'm so cheap when it comes to shoes to pay full retail. I know these went clearance, so could these possibly be real? The seller has fb concerning fake MJ dresses, so I asked the seller where he bought these and to send more pictures (which I will post if he sends them)

I think the date code font looks wrong, but otherwise my amateur eyes can't really spot any major flaws. She says gently used, if it's real does that mean it could maybe sell for a bit less than the newer Stams on eBay?

It's fake because the font in real MJ bag serial #s is sans-serif while this one is serif

compare this to red yogini's auction: eBay: Authentic **TAUPE** MARC JACOBS STAM BAG Brand New! (item 6889120018 end time Jun-11-06 11:49:35 PDT)

notice the zeros are wider and the F at the bottom has a straight line as opposed to this auction

fake-box is wrong and inner sole should say Marc Jacobs in gold metallic paint
