That's terrible! I hate when sellers abuse their mypoupette status. And because she sold it off ebay no one is the wiser. I've heard of authentic sellers dealing in fakes off ebay, so you have to be careful of these. Always ask for tons of photos and have the corresponding forum check them first before purchasing. I wonder if you are protected if you paid with paypal. Did you use CC? Most CCs offer fraud protection, so call and ask.

The font on the serial should have more rounded numbers, not broken up and as angular. I don't know if that makes sense. The numbers are correct, but the font is not.

guess what thithi? I just called her to tell her about the bag & she said that she bought it off ebay from a seller & the Saks thing was what the seller told her:confused1: ... she said she paid $950 for it and she's not happy to hear that it's a fake... dont think she's gona give me my money back coz I've used it already & taken the tags off... there goes my hard earned money.. it's not THAT much but it's hard earned money!!! :crybaby:

btw... what you mean by "not broken up" about the serial number? do you have proper pic of it???

Looks good to me, the stitching and the colors are correct for Oatmeal. As far as I am aware, there aren't any fakes of the Karolina made. It's not unusual for these bags to start this low, as they can be found at Off fifth now at good prices, around $350-450 new. The Oatmeal color is hard to find.

thanks thithi!!:smile1:

Hi ali-I'm no a stam expert, but those all look suspect to me. This thread has some great pics that should help when you are comparing. http://forum.purseblog.com/marc-jacobs/ok-my-stam-is-finally-here-43763.html. Good luck

I don't have a pic that I can post, if you look around perhaps in the forum you may find one. Or you can ask an auth seller if they can send you a photo of theirs(any stam above $1000).

Did you pay with Credit Card? Call you card customer service and speak to a rep. The seller may not be able to refund your money but the CC company might be able to do a chargeback or refund you somehow.

Keep in mind when shopping for a stam on ebay, no authentic stam will sell for less than $700-$800, if not way more. Honestly, I would avoid buying a stam altogether on Ebay.

This hobo looks pretty good, very wrinkly and that zipper looks appropriately flat on top (hard to tell without a closeup, though). The seller says they'll provide more pics upon request, ask for some of the zipper and maybe a closeup of the pushlock. That said, they don't accept any returns, which makes me a little nervous. Just looked at the seller's other auctions, and there's a suspicious Chloe Paddington. I'm not liking this seller.

^ I agree. I posted this one myself for auth last weekend but no one could confirm. I'm glad she posted the Chloe, perhaps that will shed some light. Not looking for patent, but if this is a fake, it's a really really good fake. I would ask for photos of the serial tag.

The others are fake, the patent is too smooth.

thanks thithi!!! you're sooooo helpful.... why didnt I come on here before my stupid purchase!!! I've always been one to believe in the best in people & thought coz we're all human we all have a conscience & not rip people off!!! :crybaby: talk about young & stupid!!! I'll have to becareful from now on.... you see if I dont go on ebay.... there's no way I'll get a stam coz NZ is like 3 years behind the rest of the world!!! such a conservative country... did I tell you that my parents threw me over here because they know there's not many shops here so I can concentrate on my studies???!!! I used to shop non-stop when I was in HK, I bought things for sake of buying!!! :push: they now only let me go back once a year.... and they give me only just enough money to pay for uni fees, rent, food, expenses & little bit of spending money... coz they wana teach me the "value of money" :smile1: .... so I got a part time job a couple of years ago & started earning my own money so now I DO know the value of money & how hard it is to earn a living & I get ripped off by these horrible people!!! :crybaby: how contradictory is life aye???

anyway sorry about the rambling...

btw, I didnt pay by credit card or paypal :push: paid by telegraphic transfer through the bank... like a bank deposit!!! so no hope for me....

Ebay is a like a free for all, everyone has to watch their own back while using it. There's definitely great things to be found, but when it comes to designer items, you have to be extra careful. Always use a forum to check auth before paying, and once you pay, use CC, like AMEX. Paypal sometimes helps, so it's better to use that than nothing. Never use Western Union, bank transfer, wiring, or BidPay because you're not protected.

If there is anything on Ebay you are considering purchasing, if there is even only 1 flaw, don't buy it. You're better safe than sorry.

I'm sorry this has become a learning experience for you, everyone here has been through something like this before. I myself got duped on a Gucci bag years ago before tPF came into existance. We all have to learn somehow.

My only last advice on your stam purchase is to call the police and file a claim, in your country and in hers. You have her information, correct? It's illegal to sell fake handbags, if you call and report it, the seller may be scared into giving you a refund. Can't hurt to try.
