^^ Stellas from the first few seasons (according to members, leather was softer & nicer) are more in-demand than recent Stellas including NM's LE version. YoungProf mentioned that used ones generally go for about $700-$800 so the seller wasn't really off the mark with her reserve. =) The last highest bid was $680; the seller's willing to go for that price now, therefore, the starting bid is set at $600 . Some buyers (me included) bid during the last hour. =)

Hi everyone!!! I'm new to PF as you can see... I am a MJ STAM fan, however, b/c I only ever go bk to HK once a year... I tend to miss out on alot of colours & NZ IS SO SLOW that it dont stock MJ Stam at all.... so my last resort??? EBAY!!! I found a seller & we completed the transaction off ebay but she did send me the bag thank goodness!!!

everything on the bag seems legit & all but as I was reading through the Fashion Spot & PF, I can across a few new things which cast a doubt over the authenticity of my beloved Stam ... the seller claims it was from a Saks 5th Ave liquidation sale of one of the departments stores... I bought it for $475 australian dollars!!!

anyway... thing I found is that there was actually NO colour called "BEIGE" that was released (which the tag on my one said! ) then the little squares at the bottom dont match up... people have said that there should be 6 little diamonds but even if mine matches up... there'll only be 5!!! & then there's the tag should have BLACK thread (mines white!)

sorry for rambling!!!

ANY opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Looks good to me, the stitching and the colors are correct for Oatmeal. As far as I am aware, there aren't any fakes of the Karolina made. It's not unusual for these bags to start this low, as they can be found at Off fifth now at good prices, around $350-450 new. The Oatmeal color is hard to find.

I'm sorry, but that is indeed a fakie. White string, fake. The serial black tag is fake because of the wrong font. The biege paper tag is fake. The nameplate looks strange too, the embossed MJ letters are too thick. If it's a recent ebay sale, you should ask for a return, or file if you need to. You have enough photos for proof. Do you still have the old ebay link?
Saks rarely has stock liquidation sales, if they do, the Stam would not be part of it! And the price you paid is way too low.

I'm very sorry this happened to you, hopefully you can act quickly to get your money back. Let us know how it goes!

Don't worry addicted ali, you aren't the first to get fooled by the awful fake stam sellers. Some have been successful getting their money back, I hope you will too. We're here if you need help!

I'm such a sucker!!! what font should the serial number be?.... I even asked her to find me a Navy!!! which she has!!! but it's a bit more expensive this time.... it's AUD$590.00....

I'm sorry, I hope you can get your $$ back.
Please don't buy from this seller anymore, Stam never came in Beige (the tag on your Stam) & Navy. Stam retails for $1200USD-$1275USD, used ones go for near retail on ebay as well.

That's terrible! I hate when sellers abuse their mypoupette status. And because she sold it off ebay no one is the wiser. I've heard of authentic sellers dealing in fakes off ebay, so you have to be careful of these. Always ask for tons of photos and have the corresponding forum check them first before purchasing. I wonder if you are protected if you paid with paypal. Did you use CC? Most CCs offer fraud protection, so call and ask.

The font on the serial should have more rounded numbers, not broken up and as angular. I don't know if that makes sense. The numbers are correct, but the font is not.

You must post that black/nero bag in the leather variation forum, it's TDF! If I wasn't so broke I might go for it(after authenticating with additional photos first, of course).

This bag look identical to the Karolina that I have in Oatmeal as well. Great purse! Good luck!
