I won two luella's on ebay (posted on this thread). HOw heavy does one weigh? Seller is asking for $80 to ship both out to Sydney, I think thats kinda steep! eep...

three_man - Hi - the Luella bags are reasonably weighty - so being honest - the $80 could be about right - depending on what kind of shipping service she is sending them - is this with tracking?

USPS priority mail. I think tracking is included as is insurance. How heavy are they, 5lbs? i'm asking cos I got a tumi luggage shipped out for only $60.

three_man - Well, I don't actually have the bags in question - but I imagine the shipping should have been quoted in the listing - did you check prior to bidding? I always recommend that you do. I'm in the UK so I really don't know how much it would cost via USPS - but if you check www.usps.com you should be able to get a fair idea from their pricing on the website.

Its a little difficult to negotiate on shipping - but for me - $80 - which is say around £40 for two Luella bags coming to the UK - I'd expect to pay that.

Reviving this thread again =). Please authenticate this Luella auction. Will post other pics sometime later.

As always, please ask the seller for a pic of the origin tag.

One word of caution: this seller "prefers" money orders. NEVER pay for any item, no matter how cheap, with a money order. You have no recourse if the transaction goes bad. Many of us have found this out the hard way, trust me.

On a separate topic, in my opinion, Luella Gisele bags are VERY heavy. I found them to be too heavy for me even empty so I eventually sold all three in my collection.

I have, she gave me a blurry one. I'll try and get another one. Yeah I'm a little worried about this seller due to the money order thingie. But isn't it safe since she agrees by paypal as well and her feedback's all good?

Theres another identical bag in the UK though, selling for a higher price. I'll post that one if the seller agrees to send the bag by fedex.

Yeah, they are heavy but that's what I like about them. Also I really love the bags design

ok, more pics. I'm still waiting for the seller to send me a clear pic of the tag of origin.

for the last pic the bag shows wear on one of the handles?

I don't think it's wear on the handles, just wear on the bag where the lining meets the leather at the top of the bag opening. Personally that wouldn't bother me too much because a leather repair shop could take care of that easily.

The stitching looks good but you definitely need that origin tag. Tell your seller to use the flower button on her digital camera to get close ups in clear view.
