Hi - I am a newbie to this site and went a little "crazy" and recently bought TWO Jimmy Choo bags in One day!! I am convinced one is real, but think the other might be fake!

I saw a posting showing Jimmy Choo ramona bags with pictures of the real deal by Robyn ...now can't find the thread...can anyone redirect me? Much thanks - Seattlegal:smile1:

mare76 - I am no expert, but I thought I'd take a stab at this. I pulled out three authentic Choos to compare the lilac plate with the one in the eBay auction. The font looks a little different (thicker) in the eBay Mahala. On all of mine, the top part of the H in Choo has more empty space between the two vertical parts of the letter. Also, and I cannot see the eBay pic too well, it is a little fuzzy, but, all of my three have the plate mounted higher in the leather space AND the embossed MADE IN ITALY is more visibly placed. So, this is not an answer, but just my observations.

Perhaps Robyn will answer. Hope it works out for you.

Well, whether it was fake or not, we will not know. The seller took it off ebay. Thanks for the tips you posted above. To me you guys are still the experts because you own these bags and know exactly what they look like, I'm still trying to decide which one I want to get???

^^IMO fake ... the "leather" is extra shiny and the the Jimmy Choo font on the lilac tag looks kinda 2 thick.... but I'm not sure... you might want to wait for other opinions.

Hello,

OMG! I think I found it!

Please tell me, is this authentic?

I have been searching and searching and searching for an authentic JC clutch.

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed....holding my breath! xo

p.s. If it is authentic, what's the highest price I should pay?

Is that an auction by 'agentsamy' only she has many of these for sale (one at a time) and black mahalas for BIN £249 which is a bit suspect IMO, my worry is photos of genuine ones but disribution of fakes, hopefully someone else will be along with some experience of a purchase from that seller, good luck.

AgelessHarmony, I don't think there is a guide for the Marins. I have seen a couple on e-bay that were real, but most are fake. I think one of the give-aways is the starting price. No one is selling a 1250. bag for less that 1/2 price IMO. The fakes are getting better. It used to be that the H in Choo on the outer plate was wrong, but I'm seeling it correct in the newer fakes.
Robynbenz is the expert on the interior lilac plate font.
I have yet to see a fake with the right zippers, tho. I usually take out my magnifying glass to look.
Also look really close at feedback. Are they selling alot of low priced handbags? Even 100% feedback is not a guarantee! If they are selling lots of JChoo in the same style I'd say they are fake. E-bay is a crap shoot and most of us have been burned!
Thanks for the reply. I'll just be really careful and definitely get everything authenticated here before buying. You ladies are heaven-sent.

The listing was removed, so I guess that answers that:confused1: So sorry, maybe there will be another one available.

Thanks Robyn. I figured it was. When I asked for more pics because the ones she had showing were blurry, she e-mailed me more but they were just as blurry as the ones she already had posted. That was a pretty good indication that it was fake. Really hope that I can find one. If you know of anyone selling one, let me know. I should just purchase it from Jimmy Choo, but I am curbing my shopping addiction at this time because I am saving to purchase a new house.

My recommendation for you as a first time buyer of a JC bag would be to either wait until SFA (saks) has an ECG event (usually the last Thursday of the month and purchase one from there or one of the other large department stores during a sale (should be in late Oct or Nov) or you can wait until JC stores have their 50% off sales in December. It really is worth the piece of mind knowing you received an authentic bag (as your first purchase) Most all of the bags on ebay end up being a huge "crap shoot" unless you are really careful and get lots of photos and make sure there is a long history of feedback. Additionally, if you do feel the need to have one now, let me know what you are looking for and I will keep my eyes open for you. I know how it is to want something and get so fixated on it that you end up making a rush decision. As we all know, those typically don't turn out very often:push: Good luck!
