Hi everyone - my husband's mother gave him a watch as a gift and it's raising a couple red flags for me, so I was hoping someone here might be able to tell me if it's a fake. It was purchased while she was on a cruise in the Caribbean. It's supposed to be a Philip Stein watch, but here are the things based on my research, that don't add up for me:
-There is no serial number, anywhere
-The "trademark" and "registered" markings on this watch do not match those of authentic watches I've looked at from reputable dealers (the box itself has no trademark or register markings)
-The supposed "frequency" chips, of whatever they are supposed to be, look like little pieces of copper instead of what authentic retailers describe them as (no markings or anything, they look beat up, etc..)
-The box came with no instruction booklet or card or any literature at all, just the box, the case & the watch.
What do you think?? Thanks!!
