Looks authentic to me. Sometime in mid 2011 , Tiffany started stamping some silver pieces with 'AG' in addition to the 925. AG is the abbreviation for silver from the periodic table of elements.

Thank you so much for your help! :) I have seen both versions of this necklace...with and without the ag, so it can get pretty confusing sometimes...especially for a Tiffany newbie like me. ;) Thank you for your help with my other pieces also!!! :)

I purchased this necklace used and would appreciate any comments regarding its authenticity. There does seem to be a tiny flaw or pitting in the silver just below the center of the bow. I am hoping that this is just from it being used and not because it is a cheaply made fake. lol The chain markings seem to be ok. Should the bow have any hallmarks or identifying marks on it? I've never actually seen one in the store, so I thought it would be a good idea to double check. Thank you SO much!!!

Hello!

I was directed to this sub-forum by the kind ladies at the Prada section. Would you kindly help me authenticate this Prada leather bracelet? I really want this. Thank you in advance!

Thanks for your help Sadie. I'm confused because it's not an obvious fake, but I now have another 1837 cuff bracelet, which i'm positive is authentic and there are differences between them. The mark on the inside is different and the weight of my new cuff is 90+ grams. Here are the other pictures of the first bracelet:

and here are some pictures of my new one which i'm sure on the authenticity of:

Is this 14K Tiffany bracelet genuine? I'm looking to upgrade my collection and do like this piece, but the hallmarks differ in sequence compared to the recent (US-based) Tiffany bracelet Sadie looked at:

Thanks!

Agree with Sadie, it looks how it should. Tiffany have used 14ct as well as 18ct gold in the past, this is a 14ct piece hence the 585. Tiffany today only use 18ct gold I believe, so the markings on modern bangles will state "750" for 750 gold parts per thousand. As Sadie said fonts and sizes change through time, I don't see anything wrong with this bangle.

Its definitely real. The hallmarks may look 'off' because this is a vintage piece. Vintage pieces were stamped this way, the stamp is not as neat and refined as the pieces today are. You really can't compare the stamps of today to the stamps from 20 years ago, if you do, then yes, they will look off and very different. Tiffany also used 585 then, not 750 for gold that they use today. This piece is at least 20 years old. Everything I see looks exactly as it should for this time frame. Maybe some others here will also give an opinion, but I would be confident buying it.

Thanks guys for the opinion - just goes to show how little I still know about Tiffany and I guess that given the company's long (illustrious) history, changes are bound to happen and sometimes quite dramatically (eg. 14 to 18K).

This bracelet looks good to me. I have gone over the photo’s several times, trying to find something wrong with the bracelet, but can’t. Everything that one would look for to authenticate checks out. My guess is that this is a size ‘small’ which would explain the weight. The markings on the front look good. The inner hallmark also looks good. Since this piece was produced for many years (and most likely was made in different factories during that time- when a piece changes where its made, the hallmark and other small details can differ slightly. This is common and happens when a piece is produced over a long period of time). I understand your concern over it and if you continue to have doubt, you could test it for silver. I have never seen a fake pass the silver test. If you have a jeweler nearby, they can use a jewelers magnet on it. If you are on eBay or google search for a merchant, you could buy (they are very cheap and small but extremely reliable) a neodymium magnet. This is not your kitchen magnet. A good neodymium can pull up to 30 pounds which can pull through any potential plating on top. I buy on eBay sometimes and as soon as I get the item, the first thing I do is run the magnet over it. Tiffany silver will never stick.
