I'd planned to use it myself but the handle strap was too short to be practical for me. There was very little drop so it wouldn't fit on my shoulder and because of the roundness of the bag, it was awkward to carry on my forearm.

It just didn't work for me but the person who bought it loved it.

Welcome to the purse forum! The bag in the listing appears authentic. It is a good idea to authenticate Coach, especially this style, since we've seen a lot of fakes.

I'm really interested in this style. I've been looking at the "new classics", but have read that they are thinner and a bit different in feel. I'm trying to find more on that topic in the forum...trying to figure out my way around :)

You're welcome! The classics have thinner leather, but this is a very big bag, and some people prefer the classics because they aren't as heavy. There are a few threads on the forum comparing them.

Those old madras lined bags are beautiful, but the shoulder straps are short and I imagine were really designed to carry in the crook of your elbow or in your hand. I LOVE the designs, but I don't feel comfortable carrying a handbag..maybe its because we of the 21st century ,always have a phone, tablet etc..occupying our hands! One hand would have to carry the bag, while the other hand writes texts & emails..while walking and corralling your kids in the grocery store just a thought! life was much simpler back then..multitasking meant folding the laundry & ironing while watching the soap operas on a black & white TV~ Flashback to my childhood and Moms BIG HAND bags!! :balloon:

Could someone have this willis bag authenticated? I just bought it and just noticed the stitching looks a little uneven on the bottom corners? I don't know if that's something to be worried about... =(

Thanks, BB, I agree with you about the seller not doing their homework casting a shadow over their inventory. I feel reluctant to do business with them. Especially since s/he balked about posting another creed photo.

ETA: seller has agreed to post a better photo.

But depending on the bag and the plant and the year that may not be a problem. You have to understand that there are NO "One-Rule-Fits-all" rules about details on Coach bags. Every detail of the creeds, creed statements, hangtags, serial numbers, zippers, zipper pulls, fabric, EVERYTHING - changes almost every year and can even be different between different bags made at the same time or in the same plant. If you've read any of those worse-than-useless "authenticity guides" that claim that all Coaches have a certain detail and any one that doesn't have it is fake, ignore them completely. Most of them are just plain deceptive and even dangerous to depend on.

The only way to know if a detail is right for one specific style from a specific plant made in a specific month and year is to ask an expert. That one looks ok.

Thank you for the reply, I am hoping to go to some thrift stores soon and this probably would have made me think twice about picking up a bag if it looked like that.
