Thank you for your reply BeenBurned! I actually have the cherry charm, style 92314. It's the one on the left in this photo. There are a few differences. The one on the left has overlapping cherries, lighter red signature fabric, and silver hardware. The one on the right has brass hardware and also has the cherry design on both sides rather than gold metallic painted leather on the back. Also, the cherries don't overlap at all on that one. It is also much thicker. Overall the quality of the one in question feels superior to the one that I already knew was authentic.
By gum, you're right. They aren't the same.

I still believe it's authentic but I don't know the style number.

You certainly find some unusual fobs!

I'm not comfortable with that creed. The font and stamping are completely different from another (different style) same month/year/plant bag.

Please wait for Whateve and/or Hyacinth.

How 'bout if you start with "THIS PURSE IS FAKE AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK !!!"

The inside pocket is completely wrong - none of the sections are the right size or in the right place, the font of the serial number is wrong, the strap grommets ARE silver-color, and I'm wondering if there's any stamp on the back of the buckle? Oh, the inside pocket zipper pull is wrong too. And the stitching on the top zipper pull is a mess. Why didn't you ask here before buying it?

Here's are pic of REAL ones

ETA - I just looked at your own photos of the fake - "solid brass" stamp on the buckle (now WHY did I have a feeling it might have one of those?), wavy inside pocket zipper, unfinished stitching around the top leather zipper pull, along with the other problems that can be seen in the actual listing.

The Legacy Zip 9966 is probably one of the 20 most faked classic Coach leather bags. NO ONE should buy one without having it authenticated here first unless the seller is completely trustworthy. And even then I'd probably do it anyway just to play it safe, because even the best and most honest sellers can make mistakes

Ugh. I feel terrible. I should have posted it here before I bought it. Idk what I was thinking (or why I wasn't).
The seller was very nice pre-sale so... fingers crossed. Have to figure out what/how to say to the seller. I've never had this happen to me before.

Now I am worried about the bag my MIL gave me when she was purging her closets. She isn't a purse party person or thrift shopper and has purchased Coach for herself and me (store and outlet) but I am worried. I know the strap is too short (30" end to end) -she's short and I can see her swapping it out.
I just gave it a bath (it had a been boxed up for eons smell) so it isn't shaped. Apologies for the crappy pictures.

There's a top 20 list somewhere? I had no idea this is a commonly faked bag.
Any tips on how to word my message to the seller? I don't know what I am doing (obviously).
I really appreciate all of your help, BB and Hyacinth.

Hope everyone is great.
I just received a bag I was looking forward to re-habbing and it came with another purse's strap. Nickel grommets for a brass hardware bag. :shucks:
Figured I should have the whole thing verified here since I missed it (listing pictures were meh and I wasn't sharp enough).
Any advice on what to say to the seller in addition to authentication will be greatly appreciated.

I think the red bag is fine.

As for what to say to retapsylvia, you shouldn't be worried at all. You needn't be apologetic to her since SHE'S the one who sold the fake, something that could have been an honest mistake but it shouldn't have happened.

It was her responsibility to verify authenticity before listing the bag, something she obviously didn't do.

IMO, for the money involved, if she's smart, she should just let you destroy the fake and issue a full refund, including shipping. If she wants the fake back (which she cannot relist), she should offer to cover return shipping.

Dear retapsylvia,

After purchasing item 161501257566, Coach bag style 9966, I had it authenticated and it is confirmed to be counterfeit. I would like a full refund of my payment including shipping.

Since it's illegal to sell fakes, the item can't be relisted so if you'd like, I can save both of us the hassle of a return and will just dispose of the bag. If you want me to mail it back to you, please send me a prepaid shipping label.

Come back for more advice if she doesn't respond in a positive way.

Thank you so much, BB, I really appreciate it. I freeze up in a panic when there's an issue where I am involved in the mistake equation. I will send off my message and let you know how it turns out.

My pictures are terrible! That's british tan lol!

Can someone please authenticate. I will be posting a lot of coach purses that I recently bought before I knew about this website. I am hoping more are real than fake but if I decide to sell later I want to make sure they aren't fake...if they are I guess my kids gets some more purses to play with. Thanks!

Coach pink fabric and leather trim purse
No# H0975 - F14281 (I think) and if authentic can you tell what the name of the last bag was since I can't read the number...I haven't received them yet they were just shipped.

It looks genuine, Signature Pleated East West Gallery Tote.

Here is another one, can you please authenticate?
Coach White and Brown (brown is leather) purse
No B1085 -F13732

Please read post number 1 of this thread, there's a certain format we ask posters to use when asking for authenticity opinions including information about the sale or auction listing and the seller.

The white one is genuine.
