I will inquire on etsy...as I wrote earlier I have come across tons of listings for for "inspired items" on etsy. I began working on opening an etsy store.to sell giclees of my original paintings my jewelry and photos..not COACH bags. Perhaps I can get some information as to how to report non scrupulous sellers of Branded items, since I won't be selling COACH or any other bags on my store. I am hesistant to list original work there as I know that other sellers have had their original artwork stolen and pirated by many large Companies which then mass produce IPHONE covers etc. Recently,on ebay, I have had my listings stolen(not my photos because the items or bags were different styles or colors) but they stole my words..I write stories about my items & make up goofy words that come from my goofy brain..I found 2 sellers that copied & pasted my listings..even copying our store policy,& return policy.which they then contradicted by stating NO RETURNS. nothing is sacred or safe..sorry if I'm a bit off subject, but this is how it starts..someone finds a bag or a pair of shoes or whatever they are too lazy to do the research so they copy and paste a similar item..and Voila..every COACH bag, real or fake was designed by Bonnie Cashin in 1960 for COACH..As Etsy continues to grow, I would hope they would have a clearer policy for copyright infringements, misrepresentations of items and more support for sellers.. especially when you have a copyright & a disclaimer attached to your listing. We shall see!I will keep you updated.. I Wish you all the best, thanks for for help~as always!! Be Well!! SHERI

They do respond to copyright infringement reports. As with ebay, only the rights holder can report. (I've done it and gotten infringing listings removed.)

Here's the info for reporting:

OK, so far at her Etsy store
http://www.etsy.com/shop/GutsyGirls?ref=ss_profile
she has ANOTHER fake Pat's Legacy with a "N8E-" serial that says Made in the United States
https://www.etsy.com/listing/181012...-bag-patricias-legacy?ref=shop_home_active_13

ETA -
The FAKE Willis number G9H-9927 is still listed at her Etsy store:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/177463...ref=shop_home_active_20&ga_search_query=coach

She's being super sneaky and not showing any readable creeds on most of her Etsy Coaches. I wouldn't trust GutsyGirls or DEBBIEB208 as far as I could throw her.
Well, well, before even reading all this stuff, I had asked this seller earlier today to provide pics of creed and serial number for the vintage black satchel item no. 231167428929. She initially sent me a couple that were not clear and said she had carried it herself for 18 years. Because I couldn't make out the serial number I asked her if the bag was made in 1996 since she said she carried it for 18 years.

She said it was bought 30 years ago and she carried it for 18. She sent more pics of the creed which is a leatherware creed with the 1234-567 serial number format and made in united states. Anyway, I thought the k's in the words markings and wrinkles looked like "x"s and said it worried me since it could be fake. I can't be certain, though, and said I had good luck with TPF letting me know about a fake I bought, etc.

But then she responds by saying take TPF with a grain of salt because the so called experts said she had two fakes so she sent them to Coach to verify and was told they are genuine. So, I say, well I was under the impression that Coach doesn't authenticate vintage or used purses and you haven't answered my query about the x vs k issue. Terse response was "no x just k".

That's a big hole she's digging. Since when did Coach start letting individuals ship items to them so they can verify authenticity? Oh, it must be since they realized that yes, we love having people buy our old stuff not the new stuff, so send in all your questionable items, we've got nothing better to do here.

She has a red Regis that looks like it might be fake with overstretched hide and of course, no creed. The seller does actually show creeds for quite a few of her listings but some of the ones that I have reservations about don't show creed pictures which seems a little dodgy, as if she knows there could be unfavourable feedback. If you sell that many Coach items why don't all the listings have pictures of the creed, isn't that Correct Listing 101?

I really like that little satchel but unfortunately I would never consider buying it now.

I don't know how to get the pictures of the creed here to show you, more's the pity, I am so bad with that stuff, sorry.

At first, I thought it was a 9853 Binocular Bag, but then I saw that it's 2-tone, so I believe it's a Spectator Binocular Bag, which would be a 6853, c.1990.

Thanks Tenny. Wow. It's quite lovely and more so for being pristine
It looks ok to me - Bonnie Legacy Stripe Leather Zip Crossbody from 2009, style 42570. It's in Coach's early Spring 2009 catalog.

Thanks Hyacinth. I don't know why I still get surprised by some of the Coach styles!

At one time Coach DID authenticate items for a fee but that was discontinued at least 4 or 5 years ago.

One of the many things that doesn't make sense is if she bought it 30 years ago, or knew for a fact that it was bought from Coach by her or someone she knew, then why pay the money to have it authenticated? And if she actually DID send it in, why not post a copy of Coach's authentication letter along with the photos of the bag? What's the point of sending it in if you're not going to keep the letter?

Another thing is that if it has a 4x3 serial number format, it can't be older than 1988 since that's when Coach first started using that format. So it can't be more than 26 years old.

You can save the photo she emailed you to a file or folder on your computer and from there it can be uploaded to a post here using the "Manage attachments" link a few inches below the Message box, just be sure the photo is within the size limits shown in the Manage Attachments box.

As an addendum..ETSY also has a very clear policy of items being 20 or more years old to list. By not showing a creed/serial stamp sellers can side step that rule as well.
Thanks for the above link!

thanks all..I had no idea what a can of worms I opened with this seller..I have read etsy policy, so selling fake Coach bags & potentially geniune bags that are not 20 years old, is a problem for the GUTLESS! Girl..Please report any ETSY bags that I miss..Most likely the genuine bags are NOT 20 yrs old...which explains why she doesn't show the creeds~Well it just goes to show you that these" Peace Love Light & Blessings"Sellers are as crooked as the rest of crooks..the only difference is they light scented candles & use nice soap, when washing away their sins.. Thanks for the copyright info, I have a lot of reading to do!! Take Care, Sheri

The Coach cartouche looks the same as my pre-creed watermelon tote as well. Re the zip pull, I think it may be the same as mine. I have been trying to get an answer about it too. Mine is the one in the bottom left of this pic. I took the leather tab off and turned it around so that it looks like the one in the top right pic.

I was trying to find out if it is the 'paper clip' zipper pull that is referred to in the Sacs Mag guide (in the 1960's - 70's paragraph at the bottom) but have had no answer yet.

My pre-creed watermelon tote just arrived this morning. Mine looks just like the one in the ebay listing coach943 posted - short, chubby and glued together. :smile1:

Hello Experts, please help with the following authentication. Seller only had one stock photo of the shoes but was willing to send me some additional ones she took of the actual shoes. Not sure if they're enough for authentication. Many many thanks in advance!

This is JMHO but debbieb208 and gutless girl's response to having been called out is further reason for me to avoid her and certainly not recommend her as a seller either on ebay or on Etsy. (I haven't checked Bonz yet so I don't know whether she sells there. :p)

Although it's a seller's responsibility to know items are authentic before listing them, we're all human and capable of errors. It's one thing for an honest seller to mistakenly and unknowingly list a fake. It's quite another for a seller to lie and claim that she had items authenticated by Coach when it didn't happen.

There have been other sellers who have joined TPF after having been caught (unknowingly) with a fake. Perhaps debbieb208 needs to join too.
