Morning all, Please have a look at this seller. She writes that this bag is in amazing shape for a bag from the 1960s.. with the creed J8Y, so either a PATRICIA from 1998 or one of those questionable J8Y prefixes.
most of her bags are 1990s, which she writes are Vintage Bonnie Cashins 1960s..I wrote to her, and said it is in great shape for a 1998 bag,BUT, it wasn't from the 1960s...she didn't appreciate that...But, I think it misrepresents an Item..Item not as described..when you call a 1998 COACH a 1960s Cashin...Thanks! Enjoy your Sunday!!

It's fake. Besides the fake J8Y prefix, the inside pocket doesn't go all the way across. Report it!

ETA: And she has had offers!

The style is called a Soho Signature Optic Small Hobo, and as BeenBurned said, it's genuine.

To learn what kind of misinformation posted in dozens of "authenticity guides" should never be believed or depended on (like the "Ykk zipper "rule"), please read at least the Salearea Guide on Authenticity guides and their usually bad information - reading all six would be even better if you buy or are hoping to buy more preowned Coaches:

Thank you, I visited the links and it is a lot of info to take in but now I have a place to turn to. :)

Thanks, I saw the 3 bids & wondered why Patricia was so expensive??..take a look at her other bags! No creeds & wicked pricey!! Take Care Sheri!
Okay I reported her, she stuck out her tongue at me earlier, sent a message that said? :::::
OK whatever:shrugs:. ?whateve..now she will come after me. I personally love it when someone shares info with me, I was selling a Brighton, that I had listed as "OutWest", which it wasn't... I got loads of help by a Brighton expert..and a place to go for help with "Brighton" bags..

Please DON'T report it.

We talked about that bag a week or two ago and came to the conclusion that it might be genuine, we just haven't seen it before - which as we keep saying, doesn't mean it's fake.

and a few posts after that.

The other details of the bag look ok. It may have been a pilot bag that saw very limited production BECAUSE it didn't look like people expected a Coach to look. So it's very possible that someone got a very unusual and rare Coach. I hope whoever bought it is a tPF member and posts some pics including a creed photo when she gets it.

ETA - just noticed that the seller added a creed photo after we talked about the bag, and pics showing that the letters actually are cut out. Interesting design, and I'm still not seeing anything that would make me think it's fake.

EDITED AGAIN - Whoops, the other one we talked about was a RED one! (Caffeine deprivation again). So now we seem to have two of them, both with the same details. Chances of them being genuine just went up big time.

BTW, the serial number stamp is absolutely IDENTICAL to genuine 1998 bags from the Italian plant

I just saw a bag very similar to this one for sale. It looks like it might be a slightly larger size. The seller swears it is authentic and that it was a limited edition bag purchased around 1997-1998 at an upscale Coach store outside of DC. Here is a picture of the creed and bag:

Did you buy it? I think they are gorgeous! Is the leather really soft or stiff? Thanks.

Very interesting! I was just looking at her items at Etsy and was thinking there is more than one fake handbag. I assume the soap is authentic. ()

I find it is better to just report these things anonymously. You can get reported for harassing her even if you are just trying to help. Sometimes I think that people assume that when a bag is priced super high, it must be authentic.

I agree with Whateve, the Patricia's Legacy is fake. The whole inside pocket and zipper package is wrong. And the seller is deceiving potential buyers by listing her Coaches as Bonnie Cashin bags. She often doesn't even bother to show a creed photo either.

DO NOT BUY FROM debbieb208

Yep, similar but bigger, same creed and serial number stamps.

LOL! She has nearly 100 current and completed listings, more than 1/2 of which are called "Bonnie Cashin" but made at least 20 years after BC's death.

I'm curious about this 1999 "Bonnie Cashin" Willis from debbieb208. The creed looks funny.

I'd like to make sure this is authentic before bidding. Also does this come with a small anchor attached to hang tag? Wasn't into Coach when this came out. Thanks
I apologize. I thought I'd responded to this one.

It looks good.
