You're right, I was just seeing it as a lost opportunity. It is odd that we've never seen them before and then 2 show up within weeks of one another.
The second one looks like it's trying to be a Berkeley. Maybe it's the lighting but the colors don't look right - it looks like two totally different colors and Coach didn't make that in two-tone - and the flap looks lopsided and badly cut. The leather textures don't look right either. Coach's pic is below. The second pic of a Berkeley Backpack shows the most drastic color difference I've seen in a photo. The seller would have to do a LOT more convincing to get me to buy that.

It's a Berkeley Chunky Case from around Fall 1996, style 7151, MSRP $56
I own a pre-Creed smooth leather watermelon tote with the same Coach stamp as the Suede one. The one pictured in this listing looks identical to mine with the exception of the zipper pull and maybe the zipper. My watermelon tote with Coach stamp has a shorter zipper pull that is glued together, not stitched.

I think the zipper and/or zipper pull has likely been replaced on the bag in the listing.
Morning all, Please have a look at this seller. She writes that this bag is in amazing shape for a bag from the 1960s.. with the creed J8Y, so either a PATRICIA from 1998 or one of those questionable J8Y prefixes.
most of her bags are 1990s, which she writes are Vintage Bonnie Cashins 1960s..I wrote to her, and said it is in great shape for a 1998 bag,BUT, it wasn't from the 1960s...she didn't appreciate that...But, I think it misrepresents an Item..Item not as described..when you call a 1998 COACH a 1960s Cashin...Thanks!
