Help Please ~ Seller claims the bag is 100% Authentic. I don't think it is for the following reasons:

1. Leather feels weird ~ she claims she put some leather condition on it.
2. Logo looks odd ~ It's very small compared to another #9085 from the same year I own.
3. Interior slip pocket is off has completely different leather than the bag. She claims it's because of the leather conditioner she put on it.
4. Back of interior slip pocket is unfinished suede, which is a completely different color than the exterior or interior of the bag.

Thanking all of your lovely ladies in advance for any and all help...:smile1:

Please post a link to the listing. (Refer to post #1 of the thread for the info we need.)

ETA: I don't see any problems but bags of this era aren't my area of expertise. The creed font and text seem to be correct for the month/year and factory.

Another one I'd like to know about.

Stitching on inside pocket and couldn't find the style with google or eBay search.

Thanks.
It's authentic. At 13 years old, you aren't going to see a glut of listings or pictures.

We've posted repeatedly that finding an item in a google search isn't an accurate way of determining authenticity.

Just a quick comment regarding your point #2 - you can NEVER compare details of creeds or serial number unless the two items were made in exactly the same plant, month and year and even then in very rare cases there can be differences if a stamp was replaced or modified.

Every plant had it own unique stamps and a creed stamp from the D plant will probably have noticable differences from a stamp from any other plant. Just because the bags are the same style doesn't have anything to do with whether ot not they have the same creeds. Coach often made a style in more than one plant.

Comparing JUST the creed and serial number stamps, I don't see anything to make me think it's fake. And as BeenBurned said, Google is the WORST possible place to try and authenticate a Coach.

BTW, we've seen plenty of genuine bags where the inside pocket leather was a different grain from the leather on the outside. Leather with a grain that might not be acceptable for use on the outside was often used for inside pockets. As for the back of the pocket, it's only a lighter shade of the same color as the front. The unfinished side has absorbed the dye at a different rate.

I don't see any problems with the creed. The biggest mistake counterfeiters make is in the size of the pocket. If it is the same size as your other duffle sac, then the bag is probably authentic. The back of the pocket looks like that on a lot of my leather bags .

Fake? Found the serial number on the list. Bag looked too new.

Yes it is fake but don't ever assume that because a bag looks too new. Coach never made a bag with an attached cell phone pocket. The zipper end is sticking out beyond the end of the opening. The creed has the addition of "1941" at the end of the creed wording. The number font is too thick. Silver hardware wasn't used in 1994.

Thank you both for your help. Learned something new today ~ Didn't know Coach used unfinished leather on the back of the interior pockets. You ladies are a wealth of information...

Thank you for pointing out other things that were wrong with it. I focused on the serial number, strange style, and that attached cell phone holder. Perfect looking bag for the price caught my attention initially. I am in awe of your Coach super powers!

Will report it to eBay.

And I'm amazed at what you paid for it. We need to start arranging some tPF Shopping junkets down to your GW stores!

We were in Florida and I really wanted to go to Joodlz's stores but when we saw how far out of the way it was, it seemed really ridiculous to spend that much on gas vs. what we would have saved on purses! Plus I figured that Joodlz would get to the bargains first and there wouldn't be anything left!
