Comments: I found a post by Hyancinth that said this:

I'm not too sure about the first one either. That M plant code was being used during at least part of 1997 by Coach's Costa Rica plant, and mid to late 1990s serial numbers beginning with the letter J for the month of September seem to have at least a 25 percent chance of being fake or seriously questionable and should always be authenticated. Costa Rica was definitely using the M plant code in April and November but I've also seen what may be a genuine J7M- (September 1997) prefix with a Made in the US creed, so it may be ok. It's just one of those serial numbers I can't be 100 percent sure of without more evidence either way. I DO know that 2 months later the M code was back in Costa Rica again.

Is there any news about the J7M creed with the 4133 Waverly bag?

Thx!

I'm on my phone and can't search but irregardless of whether or not the bag is authentic, I don't recommend gutsyygirls (etsy) or debbieb208 (eBay) as the seller has a long history of selling fakes and makes absolutely no effort to authenticate her items.

I agree completely about DEBBIEB208 and GUTSYGIRL / GUTSY GIRLS - the seller KNOWS that some of her items are fake and doesn't care since often the listing for fake bags will not have any creed photos. She also knowingly violates ETSY rules by listing purses that are less than 20 years old, those often have missing or blurred creed photos as well so the date codes in the serial numbers can't be seen. She just plain LIES about when they were made.

If you search the main forum here at ebay for any one of those three seller names, you'll find a lot more information, NONE of it in her favor. I wouldn't touch any of her items with a fifty-foot pole. In fact, even if someone is asking about one of her items that seemsgenuine, I personally won't authenticate it because the seller doesn't deserve any kind of approval or go-ahead under any circumstances.

ETA - the seler also has at least one proveable fake listed at Ebay, like this one with an invalid serial font and a date code for three years BEFORE Coach even introduced this style

The same exact fake Legacy Satchel is listed on Etsy but the seller deliberately leaves out the creed stamp photo showing the date code, like she does with almost all her Etsy listings - almost all the bags she claims are Bonnie Cashin or from the 1980s aren't even CLOSE, maybe 10 percent of her "Bonnie Cashin" bags have any connection to that designer, and her "1980s" bags were made as recently as 2002 and maybe even newer.

DO NOT BUY FROM DEBBIEB208 or GUTSYGIRL / GUTSY GIRLS

Out of curiosity, is there a running list of eBay sellers to generally stay away from for Coach bags?

Nice find! :smile1:

The official name is just Kristin Leather Tote

ETA - Is that the Mushroom color? It looks like it in most of the photos, but the one of the patch looks lighter.
