Neither bag is vintage so the seller is violating etsy's policies.
The second one doesn't have a clear picture of the creed for authenticating.
I have concerns about the first one. The creed picture is too blurry. The font and spacing might not match other creeds from this plant.
Thank you so much for your help! am trying for my first Coach but maybe pennies in the piggy bank would be safer until I know what I am doing on ebay or etsy :)

You're welcome. Just get anything you like authenticated first and you'll be fine. The majority of items listed on those sites are authentic but it costs nothing to be sure.

No it's not really a holiday. It seems to be something that tpf is promoting. Actually in the US there are recognized days that aren't actual Federal holidays. As you can see from these Wiki lists, National Handbag Day is missing.

Same as here. We have national official public holidays and some states have their own extra public holidays. We have similar national and state public awareness raising activities too. We've just finished Mental Health Week. I noticed you have Mental Health Month.

It looks like tPF needs to do some more work to get National Handbag Day recognised! I bet if there were more women with political power it would be a lot easier. :graucho:

OK...so in OZ it's now known as national dunking day...LOL!

A major shopping discount service - guess I can't say the name - is offering Double Cash Back today in celebration of National Handbag Day on purchases from Sak's. Lord & Taylor, Bloomie's, Michael Kors, Nordstrom's and COACH. :D

I am such a newbie :) I was looking at these two bags on etsy and will attach links. Do you mind giving me your thoughts on them? Thank you!

In addition to violating Etsy's vintage requirement, the seller, TheDappyBint is not as knowledgeable about Coach as she'd like to think she is.

This is a statement in her listings -- "Creed printed all over them?" and her statement about older, vintage Coach bags rarely being faked is BS.

I do not carry any of the canvas Coach bags that have the creed printed all over them, those are most often the fakes. You can easily spot those as being fakes if the patterns do not match. The older, vintage Coach bags are rarely counterfeits but are easily spotted by craftsmanship and poorly printed creeds and creed numbers that are unable to be found by Coach. Any Coach bag that has issues (broken straps, holes in seams etc) will be fixed by Coach if taken to a shop and mailed in to the factory.

Hi I am interested in buying this coach pilot and need to know if authentic. The first pic is not of the bag but a stock photo, fyi.

My definition of a "stock photo" is a picture belonging to the manufacturer that was copied from their website. Every website you visit has a statement on it's site describing its copyrights and caveats against using their text, trademarks, images, etc.

In this case, though, if brkfstatiffanys isn't showing the her own picture of the bag, she stole her picture from another seller's listing.

Some of her listings seem to use her own pictures so it appears that she owns a camera and can use it. And in fact, she has a watermark on some of her listings implying that she doesn't want her work used without permission.

So why use someone else's? Personally, I can't recommend a seller who doesn't show all her own work.

The second one definitely has a font problem. If that's the D plant, then several parts of the serial number don't match any known D plant fonts, and neither does the Coach logo at the top since it's still using the older "fat" font years after that plant switched over to the new design.

Good afternoon,

I am new to this forum, and read the beginning of the thread, specifically the part where it states to check to see if a purse has already been authenticated but boy, y'all are a chatty bunch! ;) There are already over 500 pages LOL!! So, I hope I am not being a bother by seeing if it's possible to authenticate this purse I snagged today? Thanks so much in advance!

Item Name (if you know it): I'm not 100% sure, but I've found identical bags on eBay in different colors and they both refer to it as a Hobo Bag (Medium in size?)

Link (if available): There is no link as I've already purchased it from the store I found it in, just in case HAHA!

Here are photos (Photo heavy - please let me know if there are any others that need to be taken, or if better photos are needed):
