Title: Coach Trifold Wallet Never Used
Item #: 221564573092
Seller: 3galsgatherings

Comments: I purchased this wallet thinking it was authentic. Now that I have it in my possession, I'm having doubts on authenticity.

I do not believe it is authentic for a few reasons. Wait for BB.
I don't think it is authentic either. The pattern arrangement of the patchwork doesn't look right. The Coach cartouche looks wrong. The c's on the lining look the wrong shape. I don't think the dustbag is authentic, and it isn't the type that was used at the time this wallet was made.

Wait for BB for confirmation.

Good afternoon,

I am new to this forum, and read the beginning of the thread, specifically the part where it states to check to see if a purse has already been authenticated but boy, y'all are a chatty bunch! ;) There are already over 500 pages LOL!! So, I hope I am not being a bother by seeing if it's possible to authenticate this purse I snagged today? Thanks so much in advance!

Item Name (if you know it): I'm not 100% sure, but I've found identical bags on eBay in different colors and they both refer to it as a Hobo Bag (Medium in size?)

Link (if available): There is no link as I've already purchased it from the store I found it in, just in case HAHA!

Here are photos (Photo heavy - please let me know if there are any others that need to be taken, or if better photos are needed):

You can use the search option in the upper right hand corner. Type in keywords such as bag style or seller. For a bag listed on ebay you enter the ID number between two stars eg *123456789*

They're correct. It's fake as is the box she used as a prop.

3galsgatherings owes you a refund. (The listing was removed so she received a message letting her know why the listing was taken down.)

It's genuine, but I don't know the name, maybe a Mini Signature Hobo. It was made in 2002.

Hello: This is my first post and I appreciate the great service that the ladies here provide.
I have three Coach bags I recently purchased at an estate sale. I have learned
quite a lot form reading a few hundred of the previous posts on the forum.

I will list the bags in tree separate posts.

Bag 1:

Item Name: Metropolitan
Size: 17 1/4" wide x 12 1/4" tall x strap length 31"
Pictures attached

Also: Does the bullseye on the creed mean that this was a factory second?

Thank You in advance
-Steve

I'm really not sure about that one. It's almost identical to the late 1995 USOC Messenger Brief except for one very important detail - there are NO US Olympic Committee logos on it. There should be an official Olympics stamp on the creed patch and a large Olympics patch sewn onto one of the outside side panels. I've only seen a few of those but they always had the Olympics logos since they were a USOC-licensed item made for the 1996 Atlanta Games.

Your bag may be genuine but it's impossible for me to authenticate it since it's missing all the Olympic logos, and Coach's official name was "USOC Messenger Bag" so theoretically they should be there. It's possible that they may have even made a few bags without any logos but if you yours is the first I've ever seen. Ironically if it's genuine it's probably more saleable without the logos than with them, but that doesn't explain why they're not there unless Coach was hedging their bets that Olympic items would be strong sellers - unfortunately, they weren't. My gut feeling says it's genuine but it's definitely an oddball. The fact that you bought it at the same estate sale as the other two and they're both genuine makes it a lot more likeley that this one is too.

Here are photos of the same style and according to the date codes on the creed patch and serial number it was made in the same plant, month and year as yours - October 1995.

Genuine, it's called a Legal Tote and was made in 1997. The bullseye stamp on the creed could mean that either it was a style made for the Factory Outlets or, and I think more likely, that it was made for the full-price stores and then discontinued and sent to the outlet. Since that style is actually in the Summer 1997 catalog as a new item it's much more likely that it was transferred to the outlets.

Welcome to tPF, and thanks for the excellent photos!
