Thanks Beenburned the only other one I see starts with a K this one starts with an M. I know that has to do with when it is made but since those letters are different is it okay.

As I remind most new members, please read the Salearea Coach Guides for an explanation of Creeds and serial numbers, the Guides were posted and researched by several tPF members:

Title: VINTAGE COACH CROSSBODY LEATHER STYLE 9755 GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC
Item number: 111285718804
Seller: swanky_yankee
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-COA...804?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item19e9254f14

Comments: This seller made some strange comments on the Ebay CAB about an authentic and unique Coach item. She has this listing.

Funny font with J8H (red flag) prefix:

$_12.JPG

I still haven't seen a J8H- serial that I'm 100 percent sure is genuine, or if I did, I didn't think to save the photo.

Earlier in 1998 the H code apparently was used for a few sample bags, in those and in genuine ones made in 1996 and 1997 the H prefixes had slightly different-sized digits and wider spacing than those 1998 stamps, but that serial stamp could have been replaced. There really isn't enough information to say for sure yet. And the seller's other photos of that bag aren't clear enough to see any other problems.

ETA - Here's a J8H- that's DEFINITELY fake - style 9929 belongs to a Sling, which is a different style. I'm not even sure what style this fake is trying to be:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-vinta...600?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item2336aba7a8

The red one doesn't look like it has the same stamp as the fake, but that doesn't prove anything either way. The fake has that "fat" font that we've commented on before.

Here's a questionable Taft with the same font as the fake and with a wonky zipper pull:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...099?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3f30421263

And ANOTHER fake with a fat serial font and the wrong style number - sheesh, they're coming out of the woodwork!:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...t=Vintage_Handbags_Purses&hash=item4ad0480eb4

Right number, but the top handle looks too long, and the stamping of both the serial number and Coach logo at the top of the creed look really bad, and the leather piping doesn't match the rest of the bag:

Still no sign of one that I can be sure is genuine.

Hycanith I have read those guidelines. The problem is I cannot find anything with the M number online but I do with the K.

The M is just a month code. If there weren't many of that same style made in that month - December - than you might not find any. It's just a matter of timing.

I don't see any problems with the bag.

Coach never designed or described them as cell phone holders either, they were just side pockets. The fake ones weren't useful for much of anything besides phones, but the real ones could be used for a lot of things, especially the deeper ones on the large totes. (Digging in some of those for a ringing phone could be a PITA!)

Then as cell phones got smaller, Coach phased most of the side pockets out in favor of the inside phone pocket which was a lot cheaper to make. I always liked those big side pockets. A purse can never have TOO many pockets! :D
Agree! Love waiting behind a woman at a check out who has all her purse's contents out on the counter looking for that elusive something in that black hole we call a hobo.

Out shopping please authenticate. Nubuck green....needs work.

Please authenticate these three bags for me. They're from local FB, so no links to the sellers. I did my best taking the pictures, but if they're not good enough, I can try again.

The first one, to my best knowledge, is Chrystie bag - that's the name I found on eBay.

For the second one I saw different names, so if you identify it, I appreciate it!

The third one is a crossbody hobo, and I only found this much information about it. It's navy blue, with zipper on top. Does anyone know it's name?

Thank you very much in advance!

Measurements always help. This looks like a Bucket Bag style 4075 from the Lightweight line if it measures about 11 by 11 inches, from the late 1980s or early '90s.
