I wonder if the etsy seller would raise the price if she knew it was authentic.

You're welcome!
I thought of letting her know that it is indeed authentic......then I just decided to purchase it instead! I love trying out these vintage bags to see which ones will work the best for me.
Sometimes you just need to live with a bag for awhile to see if you love it or not......at least I do.
I really don't like to leave my bags lonely on a shelf and unused......:smile1:

How cute! I haven't seen these before. I've seen the coral reef bags and like you say they are really pricey. Good luck with your search.
Aren't they adorable? I did bid on the cheapest one but was outbid. I'm sure more will come up. I love the colours, so light and summery. The Coral Reef totes are cute too, but I wish the siggie background colour wasn't brown. There are some that have blue bubbly background material, different style but they all seem to be about $500.00. Ouch!!

Good Morning Ladies..Please let me know what you think about this pretty girl. The only thing I noticed was the creed does not look like my 80's bags. So..Your opinion?
Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah! I have one of those, and it is one of the Lightweights, the leather is lovely. The seller's picture doesn't show the top corners of the bag, which are pretty distinctive. If it had an outside pocket it would be perfect. :graucho:

LIght Hobo, style 4017, from around 1990

Here are 3 of the ladybug designs, the coral reef ones are outrageously priced (for me).

All these have the same color leather and trim but I'm sure I have seen them with different colors unless I'm mixing them up with other designs.

All three are the same style and I think that was the only color and trim it came in. The Coral Reef fish designs came with different suede trim, Mint, Lilac and Pond.

Does anyone know if the Ladybug and Leaf and Coral Reef purses produced in the mid 2000's were faked a lot? They all seem to have cell phone holders on the outside and I thought that might be a dead giveaway for a fake. Thanks.

When I say in the Guides that a sewn-on cellphone holder is a dead giveaway of a fake, I don't mean the integral side pockets, usually with turnlocks, that were popular on a lot of bags especially tote styles from the early to middle-2000 decade. I mean the cheap tacked on leather "holder" on the older all-leather bags. The guides are specific about that being a red flag only on classic and vintage all-leather items.

This is the kind of fake holder I mean:

Good plan! I got one of my rarest bags at a bargain because the seller thought it was fake. I thought about telling her but I figured ebay would remove it before she would get the message, which they did.

Nice! It's amazing to me how many people just throw an item up for sale without bothering to find out if it's authentic or not. I guess it's just ignorance of the possible consequences of selling fake goods. The penalties can be horrific if you're caught doing it and claiming "I had no idea that it wasn't a real _____" just won't cut it if someone comes after you.

Thank you everyone for always being so helpful and spending time to do this! I need some help identifying the authenticity of these bags that I just bought on eBay:

Item: Details about Coach Vintage Ivory Leather Small Turnlock Shoulder Bag Purse USA MADE
Listing number: 26137162788
Seller: wearforless_7
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261371627888?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#shpCntId
Comments: I was kinda iffy buying this bag because they had a random sale where they knocked down it down by $10. I gave in but I hope this is a real bag!

Item: Details about Coach Vintage Brown Cross Body Saddle Handbag
Listing number: 251454243386
Seller: ladyspins
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251454243386?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Comments: I just got this in the mail and I am currently airing it out. I can take a picture of the number inside when I get home. Hopefully the pictures in the listing are enough.

Thank you very much!

As I'm reading these posts I'm thinking I wouldn't know a rare coach bag if one sitting next to me. However, I think there is a lady bug bag at a local consignment store. I may have to check it out this weekend. Hopefully they will let me take a couple of pictures.

Would one of you ladies please be so kind as to take a look at post #596? I *think* it's the Devon in Basil but I am not sure. I hope I provided informative enough pics. Thanks so much for helping me. I really value your input. Have a wonderful night! M.

Thanks Hyacinth, I got them mixed up. I see that the Coral reef ones are the ones with different colours. I guess it makes sense that Coach did end up making bags with cell phone holders eventually.

Coach never designed or described them as cell phone holders either, they were just side pockets. The fake ones weren't useful for much of anything besides phones, but the real ones could be used for a lot of things, especially the deeper ones on the large totes. (Digging in some of those for a ringing phone could be a PITA!)

Then as cell phones got smaller, Coach phased most of the side pockets out in favor of the inside phone pocket which was a lot cheaper to make. I always liked those big side pockets. A purse can never have TOO many pockets! :D

Good evening everyone,

I came across a kisslock bag that purports to be a Coach but need help on this one. No measurements are given and there appears to be no creed either. I am guessing it is a fake? It sure is interesting though. As always, any information will be greatly appreciated.
