Since the seller is refusing to admit to selling a fake, I recommend you open a dispute and leave appropriate feedback. If the listing is reported and removed, you'll be unable to leave feedback once it's removed.

If you open a dispute, perhaps the seller will learn from the ding on her account that it's a better idea to have her items authenticated BEFORE listing them than to consult with her "expert" after the fact.

BTW, it appears that ebay has changed the policy (finally doing the right thing) and made it so if an item is SNAD, seller pays return shipping. And a counterfeit item such as that sold by MYFURRY is certainly SNAD.

This seller was stringing me all along, very polite and every message I got was like.. it's OK, no problem.. you'll get your money as soon as I receive the item back. When I gave him the track # and shipping charge, he replied if I had read his return policy (buyers pays for returns), I said I just did what a CSR told me to do, as I was not supposed to pay, he replied OK then, so I thought he would but didn't, when I went to escalate the case as told by the CSR, I found my case closed and 2nd CSR said I should pay for shipping, but would give me a coutrtesy coupon for the amount, which I still do not have.

May be I should refer the policy to Ebay CS as some know about it, some not. I gave the seller once more the chance to reimburse and he said again his expert believes the bag is real, then is when I had it and left Negative feedback.

Seller sent message he is reporting me to Ebay to complaint! Such a mess!

What's the seller going to report you for? Being upset that the seller broke the law and sold a fake?

Now that the listing has been removed, the seller now has another ding on the account on top of the neg feedback.

Why do I think this will make every return a SNAD... and create more 'rent' purchases (where buyer buys item just to use for an occasion & returns it).

I do appreciate the idea behind it, but the bay doesn't seem to care too much when buyers open frivolous SNAD cases for remorse (or worse) returns, so I feel honest sellers are going to get bitten by this.

Seller replied to my neg feedback that bag was real and his policy is buyer pays, they did all they could. Well, now that the item was pulled by Ebay, I replied back saying that the item was pulled because was fake and Ebay policy is, seller pays return postage on SNAD cases.

Let's see who people will believe now. To me is not the money, it's the principle! To have to pay in order to get a refund when you are not at fault, is not right!

BB - I am not sure where you got that "quote" from, but it seems to be an excerpt I read when I checked out ebay's
MANAGED RETURNS PROGRAM.
It is NOT part of the regular return process, which is basically unregulated by ebay.
Sellers that are not opted into the program still have control over their return policies (to a degree). The only time ebay "interferes" is when there is a dispute. If the buyer wins the dispute or the seller agrees to accept a return once a case is opened, the buyer is responsible for sending the item back at their own expense, and the seller must refund in full including the original shipping (not the return shipping).

Here is a link to ebay's policy regarding returns to sellers that are NOT opted into the managed returns program. http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/item-not-received.html#doesntmatch

Personally, if they would just tweak it a little I would opt in myself because the shipping costs to send something back are MUCH lower than you would pay with the post office or any service - ebay gets a special rate from USPS
But because most people will just check off SNAD so that they don't have to pay for the return, I won't opt in.

Wish I could tell you it was Ridgy Didge, mate, but I can't, sorry.

The "No" in front of the serial number is wrong - in D plant bags from the mid-1990s the o should be smaller and the underscore barely bigger than a dot. All the genuine ones from '96 and '97 have exactly the same font, see the pictures below, one from late 1996 and the other from early '97, and a pic of the blue one for comparison

I found that quote just last week after having advised that as wrong as it seems to have to pay for a return that that's ebay's policy. Someone else posted that the policy had changed and I hunted around and found that quote.

I think you're probably right about it being from the managed returns policy.

This comes to prove how many rules, confusing and disorganized are in Ebay.

Buyers have nothing to do with the way a seller decides to operate in Ebay, so if they opt in this return policy a seller will be reimburse in a SNAD case, if the seller is not part of this, then buyer pays? Makes no sense and is unfair to buyers, that's the way I see it.

To add to my case, the seller sent an email directly to my email, saying that he took the bag to the Coach store in White Plains NY, and he was told the bag was totally 100% authentic.

I sent him the link and the quote to the Coach website that says, stores do not authenticate purses.

Gosh! So sick and tired of this!

Same with this one... I know just enough about Authenticity to second guess everything & I know this style is often faked. This color in pics almost look gold but it is the tan/khaki & drk brn.
