Could someone please authenticate?

I got this at a thrift store this morning. The number is 135-9004, so pre-1994 and I'm not sure of the style. The pocket with the creed pulls out of the bag and there is a leatherware hang tag. The thing that worries me most is the lack of grommets on the strap holes. But I don't actually know if that is a problem or not. Thank you!

Please confirm that she is authentic.

Lenox Bag
serial # B4C-9918
style # 9918
year 1994
size is aprox 10x8 1/2

I picked her up in hopes of a fun rehab. Please let me know if you need any more info or pictures. I have her with me.

Ps. The B and C in the creed are not faded or printed unevenly. It is just the camera.

I don't believe there's a Dooney rehab thread although the Coach rehab would probably be just as helpful.

THere doesn't seem to be a lot of activity on the Dooney subforum. A while back, after having trouble getting some fakes removed (after multiple reports), I started a Dooney hall of shame thread and it gets less action than a white crayon.

Aw that's a shame. I see shamefully bad fake Dooneys all the time while thrifting, more so than Coaches.

The serial number sequence is not "always" how you listed it, some plants used a number as a plant code including Turkey and many of the early Chinese plants. And the creed wording is also exactly the same as in leather bags from the early Chinese plants. The leather from them also has a slightly different feel than the original US bags.

I don't see any problems with it, other than that it shouldn't be called vintage since it was made in 1999.

Thank you so much! You have no idea how grateful I am (and I'm sure all the other ladies in this thread) for your service!

Is the leather from the Chinese plants the same thickness? Like, if I scratch it, will it just go straight to the raw leather?

No, it's not a problem. Many straps didn't have grommets. It's genuine, probably a 9730 Shoulder Sac

Thank you! After I posted I went back to catch up on posts in this thread and saw that someone had posted a black one just like mine a few days ago, so I was pleased you had already authenticated hers. I googled Coach Shoulder Sac and found a catalog picture you had posted here a couple years ago with the same bag. I saved it since I love to find those for bags I have. Thanks again.

I have another mystery bag for you guys to authenticate. I picked it up a while ago at a GW.

Item: Leather crossbody. I haven't seen a similar style, which is what makes me suspicious tbh

Comments: When I found it, it was in bad shape. There were visible water stains towards the bottom and the leather was pretty dry. The leather is different from my other bags: it's more like the tan leather that's used for the trim on a couple of my Dooneys. It seems more prone to staining, but after conditioning, it has a nice patina. It also has a rich, leathery smell. There's no hangtag and the only Coach identifying marks are the creed with serial number and a small bullseye stamp.

Here is the front:

And the back:

Inside and bottom:

The creed with serial number. There is also a bullseye stamp to the left of the creed. from what I understand that indicates it was sent to the outlets as either with slight defects or as overstock. But I also understand that the bullseye stamp has been counterfeited before.

Here's some detail of the stitching, which seems rather uniform and straight.

And finally, the zipper and the buckle on the strap:

I just realized that I forgot to measure it. If the measurements will help, I'll post those when I get home! Off the top of my head, it's smaller than my 13" laptop.

Thanks in advance! You guys are awesome :)
