No, sorry. That style 9504 wasn't even made until 2003 but the year code on the patch is for 1996. The creed also says it's made out of glove-tanned cowhide instead of suede. The stitching that I can see is also uneven and wobbly, and the top zipper doesn't look like it was sewn in by a skilled leatherworker either.

You should take it back and insist on a refund. Selling fakes is illegal even at thrifts and non-profits.

Thanks! I ended up waiting for confirmation before buying it because something just didn't feel right about it. Thank goodness, no money lost there. :)

You can get a hangtag from a Coach store or outlet. I prefer to do that because they have more of a selection. If you call they usually just send you a metal one. The manufacturing date is part of the creed on bags made from 1994 on. The first letter is the month and the digits after that are the year so 11 would mean 2011.

Most but NOT all of the pebbled leather bags made in the last 5 or 6 years will have the "soft milled cowhide" creed wording especially the Factory Store styles. The bag looks good to me.

If it's authentic you should be OK because you're protected by ebay and PayPal so if anything happens, eg it doesn't arrive, you will get a full refund and the seller will get dinged. Check all of the photos really carefully and ask the seller questions if you have any.

Comments: I should probably wait to buy another bag, but I really love the color of this bag. It's funny -- I was at work, doing my work-related things, when someone came up to me sporting a beautiful vintage Stewardess bag. My first impulse was to compliment her on her excellent taste; I refrained. My second impulse was to go online and see if I could find a vintage one somewhere... only the dimensions would be ugly on me. I'm short and tiny, and the Stewardess is way too big. But the Rambler has the same look, and this one is such a gorgeous color.
