Hyacinth, I'm curious. Are the seller's correct in saying that the bags are from the 70s?

They might be late 70s, I'm not going to try and pin it down because I don't know myself when they were made. As long as someone's not trying to pretend that a bag made less than 20 years ago is from the 70s, I'm not too concerned about it.

Thanks. I was curious because (perhaps I misunderstood) I thought bags in the 70s didn't have serial numbers. Ugh! I should stick with what I know!

Comment: This is a serial # font I have not seen yet.

Thank you :smile1:

And I'll give you three guesses why - the first two guesses don't count.

In almost all situations where you see that oversized letter "o" in "No" with that extra-long underline, the bag is going to be fake. Not only is the font wrong, but the serial number is a half-mile away from the creed stamp, the stamping is much too deep, the Coach name and logo much too big, the creed words so badly stamped that they're almost unreadable, the ends of the strap badly finished off, the overstamping marks above the serial number digits not correct, AND the wording of the creed is completely wrong for the month and year codes in the serial number.

Oh, and the "piping" on the top edge of the outside pocket is wrong - the stitching is in almost the center of the piping instaead of at the bottom, and the piping itself should be rounded out, not flat. The two rows of stitching on the "keeper" for the pointy end of the strap aren't in the right place either.

Please report.

The "new" wording was already in use in the C plant creeds at least three months before that POS was supposedly made. Here's proof:

I have a general question about plant code W...I have in my notes that it was a US plant in the early 2000's. Last week at GW I saw a 9847 (Legacy Market Tote?) with ?2W-9847 and a China creed. Sorry I don't recall the month code. I did some research on ebay and found that style with both United States and China creeds from 2002-03. Does this make sense? Any help is much appreciated!

Good morning everyone! Could you help me out with this bag? Is it a Willis, or something else? Authentic, do you think?

Dimensions given by seller: Measures: 10.25x3x9.5

Never mind..I see it is a done deal already..thanks!
That one (whatever it was) was removed but kathys4deals has this Korean-made fake:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/22144412740...l?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=221444127407&_rdc=1

I don't recommend kathys4deals because at best, she's a mixer and at worst, she knows what she's doing.
