I have a general question about plant code W...I have in my notes that it was a US plant in the early 2000's. Last week at GW I saw a 9847 (Legacy Market Tote?) with ?2W-9847 and a China creed. Sorry I don't recall the month code. I did some research on ebay and found that style with both United States and China creeds from 2002-03. Does this make sense? Any help is much appreciated!

The W codes I have photos of from 2002 and 2003 are all from China and they're genuine. I'd have to look at photos of any bags from those years or just before with a US code but I'd avoid buying them if they couldn't be authenticated before buying.

Below are a few probably-genuine creeds from those 2 years, notice the unusual font and serial number size. Also notice the the creed stamp was changed some time during that period but the serial number stamp is almost the same although the earliest one may have been modified or even replaced a few months later (Coach was using "leftovers" for a few new plants or plants they considered temporary and there seem to be frequest adjustments to stamps from the early China plants) - remember, creeds and serials were stamped separately and with different mechanisms.

Thank you very much for this info, Hyacinth! This is the insight I was looking for...now I'm hoping the bag's still there and it matches the 2002 creed configuration.

Hi,

Please help authenticate this backpack.

Item:Vintage COACH Backpack
Item#:251535799889
Seller:shysgirl7312
URL:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251535799889&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

It looks authentic to me. What's your opinions? Do i need to request more photos?

Only thing i'm a bit concerned this seller gets only 3 reviews as a buyer and 0 as a seller. Registration was in 2011 so probably this user is just not very active.

Thanks very much for your help.

It seems to be ok.

So they gave the tags to you free? Are you on their customer list? If free, you are very lucky.
I have never had a problem getting free hang tags from a store. They seem to have dozens just hanging around. I went through a big glass brandy snifter of tags and picked out a metallic gold one and a black leather one. I got the impression that no one ever asks about them. I should have asked for more but didn't want to push my luck!

Please authenticate to following two items from the same seller. Pic of Rambler creed attached.

First one - not without a creed photo, sorry. And I wouldn't recommend that seller if if it's genuine, check out their Toolhaus record:

2nd, same thing - no readable creed photo and what looks like a LOT of crud in the bottom seam of the bag, check out the photo of the interior

Hello Hello, Can you please identify and authenticate -

Item: COACH Vintage Emerald Green & Black Leather Crossbody Hobo Saddle Bag Purse USA
Item#: 191178549767
Seller: ucc.vintageclothing-2009

Comments - Seller indicates the item is green with black details. :confused1: Is the bag meant to be two-toned or are they mistaken?

Thank you:smile1:

I agree, it's a re-dye. And the seller's description is total BS. Hit the Back button on that one, that bag is a MESS.

Sorry forgot to add pic. Here's the creed for the Rambler. Waiting for the Emmie. I know they're both grotty but I'll clean them up.

In addition to selling a dyed bag and a BS description, ucc.vintageclothing-2009 doesn't do his/her homework when it comes to authenticating their listings.

The seller had a fake Coach bag in March, posted here with a picture of the creed from that bag as well as links to previous fakes:

I personally wouldn't recommend ucc.vintageclothing-2009.
