The one of Etsy seems genuine. There's not enough readable creed or serial number showing in the green one for me to authenticate it, but the creeeds and numbers in those small bags are almost impossible to photograph.
Thank you so much! I have been lurking for much longer than I have been a member, and I seriously don't know how you do it. You're amazing and I appreciate it.

I bid on this on a whim and won! I believe it to be an Italian made Sonoma satchel made in the mid 90's. :help: The seller is showing a tag for a much more recent satchel with a different code. Either she is trying to scam or uninformed. Can someone verify authenticity? Thanks.

The tag I'm seeing in the listing is for the right bag, it's a genuine Sonoma Satchel from 1996 and was a Final Sale sold through one of the outlets. Maybe she changed the photo with the tags after you posted?

She probably copied the 7081 from the wrong place on the tag and thought it was the style number.

Hi, I just bought my first Coach bag! I researched and crosschecked and I think it is real but maybe I paid too much? I don't have an outlet near me. I am more wondering how I did as far as getting fooled, and if someone can tell me more about this bag! TIA! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Black...iuRZnVt5UclXd1c1pOme4%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

All I can tell you is that it's probably some kind of East-West Duffle and was made in 2008. It looks genuine.

We don't comment on pricing but I personally would think that a pre-owned leather Coach purse in good condition is a very good deal at 31 dollars. The only one who can decide if it's worth the money is you.

Oh, I almost bid against you! Glad I didn't now. Enjoy that bag it's gorgeous!

I think I may have been wrong. I was looking at the 7081 number on the tag and assuming that was the style number since she listed it in the description. Now I see that FS4921 is also on the tag. Does that mean it was sent to factory for final sale? I think I got an awesome deal either way, although I did check out some old posts on the purse forum where someone picked one up for 19.99 a few of years ago. Did this bag come with a shoulder strap? Thanks again for your expertise.

Thank you! I don't know why but I have such a thing for Sonoma's. They feel so good and are so substantial. I have quite a few now, from periwinkle to red to BT and a few in between. Actually I have two of the exact same bag because the color was off on one listing! I should have checked the color guide and not relied on someone's interpretation of the color. Sonomas are like that old Timex commercial, "take a lickin' and keep on tickin'!

I have one that is nubuck. They are wonderful. I'm certainly going to keep my eye out for another someday. Just need to slow down on the spending right now.

Last time I ask, I promise! You guys have made me obsessed with owning a vintage coach now. Can someone please tell me if either of these check out? Also, any clue on the real age of bags like these? I want to just buy everything and am trying to pace myself by starting with one nice, solid little bag.

This seller ONLY sells authentic bags.

ETA: I was in the middle of serving dinner when I posted the above outburst.

It is always a good idea to get each bag you are interested in authenticated, regardless of the seller.

Sacsmagnifiques is a frequent contributor to tPF and she has also written very informative blog posts, which we have all learned a great deal from.

She has also generously helped many of us with rehab and restoration questions.

(I'll stop now. :smile1:)

I didn't take it as an outburst! I was excited to read and purchased immediately after your initial post! Everyone here has been so helpful. I feel so inept buying vintage, I've always bought new, and I'm not familiar with many sellers/users yet. Thank you again for your help! And the advice, which is much appreciated. :smile1:
