I got this one (it's in the mail), and I want to be sure that I didn't make a mistake. Seller accepts returns, but I hope not to have to return it. I know I should have asked here first, but I had no time so I went for it. These are pictures from the listing, size 10 x 9 more or less.

Hi Girls,

I came across this bag today, before I contact the seller to see if it's still available I wanted to run it buy you to see if it's legit.

Comments: It looks like it's in pretty decent condition and the price isn't bad compared to similar ones listed on Ebay.

Hi, my husband came across this bag at a thrift store today, he just sent me a photo of the creed. Need help if it's authentic (he told me it's in black color, leather) and what it's called. Thanks :)

So another day another problem - I just had a case opened up for me for selling a counterfeit Coach handbag and would like authentication here to prove my bag is real.
Please note that the link to the photo with the creed is broken - I have asked the buyer to upload a photo of it to the resolution center and will add it once that is done.
ALSO Please note that I still had the original Coach tag which I included with the bag, you can see it in one of the photos. Thank you!

This is her complaint:

The case details:
The buyer says the item doesn't match the description.
The buyer paid on May 02, 2014.
The item is fake
Additional information:
"This purse is cheap with a cheap zipper that is hard to open and close. Smells like plastic. Looks like a counterfeit. I have A LOT of Coach bags, and this one is a fake. It does NOT feel like leather, does not smell like leather. Purse does not have any Coach markings on rivets. I would like to return for a FULL refund, I should not have to pay for shipping or return shipping on an item that is NOT authentic."
The buyer requested:
A refund. The refund amount includes the purchase price plus original shipping.

That is not a Coach handbag. I think the seller is misinterpreting the label.

We can't authenticate with just a creed picture. We need to also see the full front of the bag (at the very least.)

I'm not seeing a broken link to the creed; I'm not seeing any creed picture.

Without the creed, it's difficult to authenticate a bag but based on what I see of the other pictures in the listing, I don't see any problems.

In response to her comments, I'll say:

  • Count your blessings that this bag doesn't have markings on the rivets! If the bag had markings on the rivets, that wouldn't be good! Generally, the more "Coach" markings on hardware, the more likely the bag is to be fake. This bag should NOT marked rivets.
  • A sticky zipper indicates a zipper problem, i.e., quality problem and isn't indicative of fake
  • This is a MFF style and factory styles sometimes tend to have a thinner, lighter weight leather.
  • Some leathers aren't as fragrant as others. Again, strong leather smell doesn't prove authenticity one way or the other
As for owning many Coach bags, that doesn't make one expert.



If the buyer would like to post a picture of the creed so we can look at that, I could give a more definitive statement as to authenticity.
