I have a bag that just doesn't seem right. I bought this bag long before I knew there was a lot of fakes out there. I bought it at a garage sale. Is it real or a fake?

I can't find any other Coaches from 2002 with an E plant code. My guess is that even if the Italy plant was dormant for that time period, Coach still wouldn't have assigned that code to a US plant when they were alreay in the process of moving their production to China.

The inside pocket zipper pull is a problem, and the silver strap grommets with brass buckles is always a problem - can you check the underside of the buckles and see if they have any words stamped into them? The leather zipper pull on the top zipper isn't finished correctly either.

There are almost no other bags in that style with 2002 year codes except for one that also has a plant code that might be invalid, and the serial number even shows some similarities to the one in your bag. I don't think the other one has enough obvious problems to report but I'm not comfortable with either bag.

There are always going to be some bags that are so close in the main production details that the only thing we can point to are very small differences or mistakes. Yours may be one of them. If it was a situation where that bag was for sale and you were asking us for opinions about if you should buy it, I'd have to say no. I'm leaning toward it being fake though, sorry.

Thank you so much! It will likely become tassels as there are just too many things in question about it. Even the underside of the Leather just doesn't feel right. I appreciate your time involved for writing this long post. It helps everyone who reads it!

Ok, just picked up this cutie. I'm pretty sure it's authentic, but clarification/confirmation is always appreciated. It came with a coach brochure too...
