Ok... so I heard back... the seller had a company called *****************.com take a look at the photos from the auction, and they sent her a note back saying that they believe the purse is authentic.
Then I think you will have to open a case with ebay. You need to do it today. You only have 6 weeks from the date of the sale, I believe. Those authentication companies are terrible for Coach.
Copy my response as to why the bag isn't authentic. Add whatever you can about how the leather feels different, etc. You can link to my authentication.
Did you pay for it with a credit card?

The Pegasus one looks a little suspect to me.

it looks fine to me. I have that fob (style 92533) and it's identical.

I fixed the link. You'd had the link to the Pegasus keychain.

The BCA (92030) is authentic though this one is highly faked, some fakes more obvious than others.

Hi,
I just discovered this great site! I have 2 vintage leather coach bags that I bought in the last few months, and I'm wondering if someone could authenticate them?

The first is a British Tan City Bag: F4C-9790

And the second is a Navy Court Bag: J8C-9870

I bought the Court bag first, and I really like it-- the leather feels great and it seems very well made. The thing that made me wonder is- I wore it recently on a day that turned out to be hotter that I was anticipating. I got a little sweaty while running around, and was wearing the bag cross-body. Some of the blue leather from the bag wore off onto my light colored shirt. I was surprised that this happened... I wore it before in light rain and didn't notice this happening. Does this seem strange? Does it just need some leather sealant?

The tan bag I bought on ebay about a month ago and the quality of leather just doesn't feel as sumptuous as the court bag. It seems a bit dry. I mink oiled it a few times but it didn't help too much. But then again, it hasn't bled onto any of my clothes...

I would love to get someone's opinion if you have a chance. Thanks so much!!

Your link doesn't work. We need creed photos and more photos showing the bags and their details. If the ebay links are still available, please post those as well.

I've never had leather color come off onto my clothes. In my experience bags from the 90s are usually colorfast. It is possible that a previous owner may have used some kind of polish. I know of one person who had a wallet pick up color from the inside of an older bag.

Once we authenticate the bags for you, you can get rehab tips from the rehab thread here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-833400.html

I am very worried about the tan bag. The creed has some anomalies that make me doubt its authenticity. Can you take a picture of the back of the flap, showing the back of the turnlock opening? You don't have much more time to open a case.

The navy court looks fine. It might have had some kind of polish applied to it. I can't tell from the pictures. If you want, you can give it a bath and see what comes off. Or you could wipe it gently with alcohol or nail polish remover. You'll get more help if you want to do that in Rehab thread.
I'm so sorry. I believe the bag is fake. The creed has several problems and the grooves on the back of the turnlock are further proof the bag is fake. The creed indicates the bag was made in June 1994 at the US plant C.

The most obvious difference is "Made in the United States" should be across the bottom of the creed. The "o" in "No." is elongated and the number font is incorrect. The wording is completely different. Coach eventually adopted that wording, but not by June 1994 at that plant.

You can contact the seller and tell her you just learned it was fake and see what she is willing to do. If she doesn't refund your money, you only have about a week to open a case with ebay.

I can't find any exact examples of the same month and style but this one was made one month after yours was supposed to be made.

This one was 2 months after yours.

This is disturbing because this isn't the first time AF gave an incorrect authentication on Coach.

This thread describes another mistaken authentication.
http://forum.purseblog.com/ebay-for...uthentication-service-knows-brand-860220.html

And in that thread, AF denied authenticating the item for the seller and in essence, claimed the seller lied about having had them authenticate it.

I do believe that AF is doing Coach and I do think they're screwing up, much like another well-known authenticator got a reputation for doing.

IMO, professional authentication services should have the integrity to admit that they don't have an answer if they aren't sure.

Yes, it's genuine, it's a Chelsea Large Turnlock Pocket Hobo from 2005.

LEMONCAKEMIX -

I agree with BeenBurned and Whateve, that bag is definitely fake. The creed formatting and wording is completely wrong for the date code in the serial number.

I PERSONALLY DON'T RECOMMEND ***************** FOR ANY COACH AUTHENTICATIONS.

And let me make it clear that I don't work for, or get paid by, any authentication service, but have seen too many problems with both ***************** and with MyPoupette to EVER trust any Coach authentications they've done. Neither company is qualified to tell real from fake Coach products, both have made some glaringly obvious mistakes that a few minutes' simple research could have prevented.

Just my opinion. You're welcome to refer the seller to this post.

Early Vintage Hippie with "top grain leather" stamp. It came today and is stunning. You can see a bit of leather remnant attached to the feet where there was a lining at some point. Still haven't figured out a way to contact that poor seller. I had Jed send me a photo of the stamp from one of the Archive bags too for future reference.

You can contact the seller by going into your paypal transaction details in your paypal account.
It will have the sellers email address so you can write to them directly that way.

Even though it was not your fault or doing of course, you also might consider working with them to get their MC999 violation removed since you know the bag is authentic.:smile1:
It's a baaaaaaad thing for a seller, as you know!

It looks ok to me. The exact name of that bag style isn't in my records but it's a genuine Bleecker Signature Denim Stitched... something-or-other. Pocket Flap? Field Bag? Crossbody? Swingpack? Maybe someone else might know.
