All are authentic!

You are one of the very few people who inherited all authentic items!

One caveat though: Keep in mind that googling a style number and finding others that look like the same style is not authenticating the bag.

Counterfeiters can and often do use legitimate and seemingly correct style numbers on fakes.

Since it's your reputation at stake and you didn't personally purchase the bags from authorized sources, it's a good idea to run pictures by experts to make sure you don't accidentally list a fake and risk ripping off a buyer and dinging your account.
I appreciate it more than you know. I did just get burned a few weeks ago. I wanted a cross body bag that was long enough for me. I ended up with a bag torn on one side (one of the patches completely torn off, and stained bad. I never thought to ask for more pictures or to check her feedback. I got click happy and bought it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321366707991?_trksid=p2059210.m2748.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Live and learn. But no more Googling for me...this is my new go-to place. Thank you so much again!

Hi Girls,

Hoping you can give me your input on this bag. I tried searching the seller on here to see if there were any red flags but her username didn't come up for me. I did find a few references to a fake bag that used the 9946 style number.

Item: Unique & Rare COACH Brown Glove Tanned Leather Buckle Flap Hobo Handbag Purse
Listing number:131179067370
Seller: shop*at*2tymingthreads
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unique-Rare...370?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item1e8ae1b7ea
Comments: She seems to have a lot of nice bags but I'm not experienced enough to know what is authentic and what isn't.

Thanks for your help.

My comment is similar to the one I made in another thread. That comment is that L4K-9946 seems to be a fake serial number, often showing up on bags of differing styles:

http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-763164-571.html#post24358618

And Hyacinth's response:
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-763164-571.html#post24359267

Here's another listing for a bag with the same serial number and a style which doesn't match what the bag is trying to copy:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-COACH-B...444?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item258c6db304

I believe that the listing from seller shop*at*2tymingthreads is fake but wait for comfirmation before reporting or contacting the seller.

I reported this bag as fake last night on Hall of Shame.

Thanks girls! Do you think that all her bags are fake?

Yasmeen
Her other Coach bags (current listings) look okay.

When a seller has one fake, that doesn't necessarily mean that everything is fake. But it does mean that the seller needs to learn more about the products she sells and to verify that all her items are "legal." shop*at*2tymingthreads doesn't do that, seemingly common among high volume and high feedback sellers.

This is a great example of why high feedback and good feedback scores don't necessarily equate to "honest seller."

Thank you so much! I thought this bag looked okay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Signa...661?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item1e8ae0808d

but the 9946 one looked off to me so I wanted to confirm with you gals. I'm interested in a few of her bags (non-coach) but not sure how to tell if they're real or not.

I did check out her feedback and given the volume I figured you're going to run into some problems or difficult customers that can/will give you poor feedback.

Oh thank you so much BeenBurned! I truly appreciate it! Yes it was just the one purse. I am pretty sure the others are legit. I have Googled the numbers and come up with the identical purses on different sites. Hopefully those were authentic. LOL! I am wanting to sell the ones I have and get some that are more my own style. One is brand new with the tags still on it but I just can't see myself using it. If you would like to see the rest and give your opinion in case I am wrong... http://share.shutterfly.com/share/r...ThyzasyC&fid=21ecdfef5a5f72d2cf4ab00f16ca9e1e

This bag looks very unique!!! Lovely pastel pink!

The style number 9946 is a drawstring style that looks like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 so anything other style will be fake. The bag from shop*at*2tymingthreads is fake.

The other bag with the same style number listed by Beenburned by seller a1webguy
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-COACH-B...444?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item258c6db304
is probably fake as well. Without a clear picture of the creed, I wouldn't want to report it though.

I don't have L4K-9946 in my files as always fake. If we've decided it is, I'd like to know so I can update my files. In my files, K was only used for China. If there are some valid uses of K for US, I'd like to know.

I know the style number is wrong on this, but since most of the bags with this style number (that I've seen here) appear to be a copy of a legitimate style, just curious if there is a real bag like this? Just curious, I don't recall seeing it.

I have J4K- and L4K- down as PROBABLY always fake, because the plant code can't be verified to have been used in the US. For my own files I'd rather just leave the *4K- prefixes as probables rather than confusing things by including style numbers, since all bags with those prefixes should be authenticated anyway. Most of the styles we've found those prefixes in are usually several years newer than 1994 anyway. There have to be other problems with the bag besides the serial number before I'll report them.

I don't like to completely rule out a number unless there's enough evidence over a long period of time that the number is always fake.

See Whateve's post right above yours. Style 9946 was a Nicholas Drawstring introduced in 1994.
