Costa Rica, not USA as listed

That's odd. I'm viewing via my phone , and the listing I'm able to access doesn't mention anything about it being made in the USA. I'm not regularly an eBay shopper, so I'm kind of flying blind. :)

I did see that the creed mentioned Costa Rica, and I think the "P" in the serial corresponds, but was the Rambler only made in the USA?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions.

In the item specifics, there's a blank where the seller states the country of manufacture. She posted United States.

This is from the listing. (I'm not sure you can see it in the listing from your phone.)

I'm just letting you know if you were looking for a usa made bag that you are right "P" is the Costa Rica factory. seller listing states country of origin:" USA" .I'm not authenticating it...I'm just awake waiting for my blankets to dry so I can go to bed..nightnight!!

Now that I'm trying to find one, I'm not able to locate a picture of a "good" fake in my files.

The close 6818s are in the "correct" style but usually there's a problem with the pattern and it's not properly matched and/or aligned. I've also seen them with 1994 prefixes and text describing a leather bag.

Note that although we don't see it often, the outlet bullet has been faked so that's not a definitely indication of authenticity.
A couple of weeks ago, I authenticated a soho flap bag, style 6818 and commented that there are some "good" fakes of that style.

At the time, I couldn't find an example of one of the fakes and I'd forgotten to mention another similar style, also sometimes closely copied.

Tonight I was able to find listings for fakes in both 6818 and 6808.

Seller azbar1
Fake Soho flap bag, style 6818
Item number 221416871955
http://www.ebay.com/itm/WOMENS-BTOW...955?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item338d795813

In case the listing disappears, these are the pictures.

Item number 301157033051
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Signa...051?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item461e5ba45b

In this listing, she doesn't show the creed, but the center seam is the giveaway.

Thank you! I was wondering if I'd just missed something somewhere or linked to the wrong item or something equally wonky.

Does the discrepacy between the photos with the seller listing usually indicate a fake?

I did a little more digging on here, and from what I found in another thread, the fact that it would be made in Costa Rica is actually a good thing as far as authenticity goes (I think). I'm so uncertain.

There is nothing wrong with that bag, other than the condition. It is not unusual for sellers, especially newer sellers, to make mistakes in their listings. A lot of sellers don't read the creed or even know that it can be read. (I think some think that all creeds are identical.) They just assume an all leather bag would have been made in the US. Other sellers copy other listings when they make theirs, and forget to change the country of manufacture. Costa Rica is a good thing, both because the Costa Rican leathers are very nice and because counterfeiters copy US creeds most often.
