Just as an aside, I'd like to say that the seller shouldn't be using Coach's (and Michael Kors) stock photos for use in her listings. She owns a camera, takes good pictures and there's no need to infringe on the manufacturers' intellectual property rights. JMHO.

It's authentic. It's a handle clutch or a slim satchel compact; I've seen it called both. I have one of these. It's from the 70s or early 80s. I think it would probably rehab well. The edges look to be in great shape. I'm not sure about that spot. It depends on if it is really a water spot. Even if it is, if it has been there a long time I don't know if it will go away completely.

You're welcome. I don't think the lack of a hangtag diminishes the value. It's nice to have a matching hangtag but not that important IMO. It would more important on a bag that had a more unique hangtag like on a Sheridan or Sonoma but, even then, it's just a bonus. You can always add a metal hangtag.

None of my catalogs show it so I can't help with the price.

The Madisons were sold from Fall 1993 to around Spring 1997.

I posted this in the finds section. I think it might be smaller than the seller states. The color was probably called ink. I don't know how purple it is IRL. If the creed checks out, it looks okay.
