Thanks so much for all the info. I am learning a lot.
You're welcome. One thing you can do is a search for a seller's name in the Authentication thread. You'll see if anyone else has asked about their items and whether they were authentic. You can also check the seller's feedback but that isn't very reliable because a lot of buyers don't know they have bought a fake. When I have gotten fakes on ebay, I usually end up returning them for a full refund and I don't mention that the seller sold a fake in my feedback, so I imagine other people do as well.

Pardon me, I have no idea why previous photos couldn't show. Could you ladies please kindly click on this link and authenticate this bag for me? >.< I promise this is no spam...

Does anyone happen to know the style of this bag, if it does have a name?

Thanks! I'd really appreciate your time and help:D
It looks good. The style is called horse and carriage east west pleated gallery tote.
Thank you both, I really appreciate it:) Wow- I didn't realize some styles weren't centered on the back- I am thinking this one might be ok then. I've gotten pretty good at this point at authenticating them myself- but every once in a while I just don't know... very grateful that you guys are here to help in those situations.

I did have a 'scary' well-done counterfeit leather duffle style 10398 I found a couple months ago- I puzzled over it for a while- the only 'clues' were that the last numbers in the creed were actually 10399 and the zippers were silver-tone (and appeared original) while the rest of the hardware was antique brass- otherwise it was perfect.
You're welcome.

Comments:

I like this bag but I'm unsure of it's authenticity. I already have a Coach penny perforated watermelon one and based on these pictures, It doesn't look alike at all. I need your advice and opinions. I've searched online for Coach penny in pink, but I haven't seen this shade at all which makes me think it's fake? Please let me know what you guys think?

Because of the huge number of AAA fakes coming through the Philippines, we usually advise residents to avoid buying from local sellers. In a case like this where there is no clear close photo of the creed patch, that advice is even more important. Their Coach items seem to be "New WITHOUT tags" - why would a seller remove the price tags?

The seller already has 1 Neutral and 2 Negatives just in the last few months (both Negatives are from the same buyer) that accuse them of selling fakes. I would not buy from that seller even if the color turned out to be genuine. Colors can be different for different markets and whether a color is available in one part of the world doesn't mean it's available everywhere. Coach even makes special colors just for certain large department stores, so judging if something is real based only on color is a dangerous thing to do. I just know that because the seller may have sold fakes before and because none of the pictures are clear enough to show important details, I would NOT buy from that seller.
^^^ Exactly what she said although I do have something to add.

Although I can't see much nor read the creed, the stitching is crooked and the sealant around the edges of the creed doesn't look right. I don't think the bag is authentic and I wouldn't recommend buying from probird2010

You're welcome.

I just looked at the larger photos you posted, and although I can't read the creed patch, what I can see of it makes me even more sure that buying from that seller is not a good idea. The patch looks like it's badly made and badly sewn, the black around the edges looks much too thick, and the thread seems to be different colors and the stitching different sizes. The longer I look at it, the more fake it looks.
I posted above before finishing but I see that Hyacinth noticed the same creed issues I commented on.

THese listings from the Philippines are scary.

Hello, everyone, I was just wondering, since Ebay sellers are supposed to have their Coach items authenticated prior to listing, is there a list of Ebay sellers who actually do it? I go through the old purse forum threads sometimes to see if an item I'm interested in has already been authenticated prior to listing but with 700+ pages it can be a daunting task sometimes. I have figured out on my own, sellers I can buy from with confidence eg. salearea but there's gotta be more out there.

Also, is there a way sellers could provide a link to the authentication (if one has been done) on the listing that would take a prospective bidder to the Purse Forum. This may have been asked before so if it has I'm sorry to be redundant.

I think very few sellers authenticate their items on tpf before listing. Several of the established sellers authenticate their own listings. There are many trusted sellers. TPF isn't the only place to get purses authenticated. There is also an ebay authentication thread and several private companies that do authentication.

Ebay rules don't say you have to get your items authenticated before listing; they say you can't list something unless you know it is authentic.

If I'm not mistaken, ebay sellers can't provide a link to the authentication because it is prohibited to have outside links in your listing.
Actually, it's a violation of tpf rules for sellers to authenticate their own items. Some AT authenticators are more lenient than others, Coach being one of them. I think the authenticators here would rather see a seller do her due diligence and verify authenticity rather than possibly listing a fake. I'm one person who doesn't mind helping to keep sellers honest and as long as I don't feel taken advantage of and I don't feel that sellers are self-promoting, I will help where I can.

Other brand authenticators here think that sellers are making money and shouldn't take advantage of free authentications. Instead, those authenticators refer sellers to paid professional authentication services.

As for posting links in ebay listings, I do believe that a link adding credibility to the listing is allowed. Outside links to other selling sites would not be allowed since it's diverting business away from ebay.

Keep in mind though that just because TPF deems a bag authentic doesn't mean that ebay, paypal or c.c. companies will accept that determination. In cases of disputes, if an authentication is necessary, it has to be a paid one.

Here's the links policy: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-links.html

Policy overview

In general, when listing items on eBay, you can include links that are solely intended to provide additional details about the items. That means links should only be used when that information can't be included in the listing itself. These links include additional images, technical specifications, manufacturer warranties, and other information that can help buyers make an informed purchasing decision. Other links that point to a third-party provider's website are also allowed, such as image hosting sites and auction template sites.

eBay doesn't allow links to non-eBay sites or content where other items are offered for sale. eBay continually reviews links on the site and reserves the right to block any link considered unsafe for our members.

Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including limits on your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.

I have purchased several coach bags on ebay recently. I am questioning the authenticity of a couple of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 2 questionable bags are as follows (the 3rd bag will be in another post due to picture limits):

Description: black signature C bag with silver hardware and front clip to close. black textured lining
dimensions: approx. 10" length, 2.5" width, 8" height (not including straps)

2.
Item Name: No F6M-4133 (Waverly?)

Thanks so much, and please see my next post for the 3rd questionable bag.

#1 is authentic.

I don't see any problems with either one. On the first one, the runon between the words "handcrafted" and "in" seems to be on all creeds I've seen of this style.

So I bought a Coach Purse on ebay. It said it was authentic and the seller had a great feedback so I decided to go for it. I received it today and I am not 100% convinced it is authentic!

It is a Leather Ashley Swingpack, but there is NOTHING inside the bag that says coach. The leather is nice, even has a strong leather smell. Please tell me if you think it is real or if I need to try to get my money back!

For some reason my pictures aren't loading.

Welcome to tpf.
