I don't know anything about the first one. The rest are fine. The Sheridan might be a Sheffield Bucket 4232. Hyacinth can confirm. The last one looks like #4020 Drawstring Sac Small from the Lightweights collection.

6115 is a Canvas Bleecker Demi Zip. I agree with Whateve about the Sheridan being a Sheffield Bucket.

Thanks so much Whateve, BB and Hyacinth! Good to know that I have gotten better at ID'ing authentic bags. Now off to rehab!

P.S. Steve, my Coach cat, is named after Steve McQueen, pretty much 'cuz she's cool like that. :supacool:

At first, I thought I was reading a "bean bag" creed, but this appears to be an "best bag." The creed doesn't show "Coach" but instead is "Leatherware."

I don't believe this is considered counterfeit. But it's certainly "inspired" by Coach.

As for the comments about authenticating after the fact, it was I who made them. And again, I meant no ill will toward anyone who had come after an ended listing. Sheesh, many if not most found tPF after having purchased a fake, never previously having known the site existed.

But ebay policy is clear and although sellers are violating policy to list a fake in the first place, once the sale has been completed (i.e, the listing ended with a buyer), that buyer is contractually obligated to complete it.

Another benefit to posting ahead and finding out a listing is fake is that it can be reported, hopefully removed and the seller isn't credited with a sale, but instead, her account is dinged.

Here's the policy. The part in red is the pertinent part and in order to avoid an NPB ding (should the seller choose to file for non-payment) is to pay for the item and file SNAD.

I won an item but no longer want to buy it. What should I do?

A bid or commitment to buy on eBay is considered a contract and you're obligated to purchase the item. However, if you feel that you have a legitimate reason for not buying the item, you can contact the seller and explain your situation.

Many sellers are willing to work with you if you communicate with them openly and honestly. If you haven't done so already, request the seller's contact information, explain the situation, and see if they are willing to cancel the transaction in the Resolution Center. If the seller opens a case, you'll receive an email asking you to agree to the seller's request to cancel the purchase. Be sure to promptly accept the seller's request.

If the seller doesn't agree to the cancel the transaction and you don't pay for the item, an unpaid item will be recorded on your account. If you get too many unpaid items recorded on your account within a short time period, your account may be limited or suspended.
Sorry I assigned the post to Hyacinth but I am agreeing with you. As far as the item I requested authenticating, I didn't even notice that it didn't say Coach. So much for my powers of observation. So not a Coach and not a fake. Makes sense.

Awesome!Thanks again!:smile1:
You're welcome.
Thanks, BB!

Even with the newer creed wording, the number stamping isn't right and neither is the puffiness.
You're welcome. Google is a wonderful tool!

No red flags but I'd like to see a picture of the inside and a picture of the creed.

I didn't notice that it didn't say Coach at first either.

There was another bag posted (either/or here or ebay boards) which had what appeared to be a fake Korean serial number but without the Coach name on the creed. The only thing with "Coach" was a fake hangtag so if the seller discarded the fake hangtag, she could probably legally list it as a generic (albeit fugly) handbag.

The first one is an authentic Baxter bag from the early nineties. The second one which I authenticated previously is from the late 70's or 80's. The third one is not a stewardess. It is a Legacy crescent bag from the early 2000's. I can't read the creed well enough to see the year.

OMG!! I just got the Baxter bag. I can't believe how beautiful it is! It looks like I walked in a Coach Store and bought it. Pristine condition and a beautiful navy that lots of people will think is black (at least those who wear one black sock and one navy):-)

Hi, can someone authenticate this coach bag for me please?

Hi -

Can someone tell me what this is, please?

Item: Vintage COACH black Leather drawstring Shoulder Bag Womens Purse- No.0042-311
Listing number: 300918633465
Seller: briandorch
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-COA...465?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item461025f3f9

Comments: It's probably just the way the drawstring has gathered the leather, but it doesn't look familiar.

Thanks very much!

It looks like a Delancy Drawstring, style number 4122 from the Lightweights/Soho line, Spring 1993.
