There's NOTHING wrong with that bag. It's an Embassy Brief made in 1994 and the bag, the creed stamp and the serial number all look exactly like they should. It's completely genuine and that style was made by Coach for at least 10 years, from 1986 to 1996 according to their catalogs.
::snip::
Here's Coach's own catalog pages, the first from Summer 1986 showing it as a "NEW" style, and the second from the Holiday 1993 book. Please send your buyer a link to this post, and also send it to Ebay.
Ugh! This is why I don't want to sell on ebay.Update - For your reading pleasure..
"I have just clicked on the link provided by the seller. a pretty awful purse forum in which the seller is running me down and insulting me on a blog because the bag doesn't look genuine. this is obvious not a reputable seller, and involved in seedy blogs and running down a customer..."
There's (a whole lot) more, but thought y'all would appreciate that.
SEEDY BLOGS = links to the salearea guides, as well as a link to the authentication post quoted ..
She also states that I called her names because she wanted to call Coach (?!)..
" Again, i am trying to make time to call the Coach counterfeit hot line number. this is HUGELY frustrating. if the seller was confident the bag was genuine why would she insult me so much on a blog - or call me names for wanting to talk with Coach?"
(I did NOT call her names. Nor did I insult her.)
Anyway - The 5090 is being returned.
I will be sure to post her info in "non paying buyers", this is =not= someone you want to sell a bag - or anything - to. I am sure she is going to NEG me as well with more of her spew - I see a neg in her past where she negged someone 7 days after a purchase saying "item never received". Seller's comment "don't listen to this wacko"![]()

I hope you haven't already given her money back. If she doesn't send it, you don't have to give a refund.99.9% of people are awesome - then you get the one that just has to go strong & wrong & rude simply because they don't like an item.
It gets better.
The "tracking" info she entered on the case is the item number... not a tracking number..
So - I don't think she has actually SENT the bag back.
Just got off the phone with eBay.. they're like "oh well, nothing you can do without a valid tracking number, have a nice day"
make sure to post her ID somewhere here, I think BeenBurned can suggest a thread or two where poisonous buyers can be "outed".
And to think the largest, most respected Purse Forum on the Internet is just a "seedy blog" - I am CRUSHED!
Sheesh, what a Maroon.
Holy crap! That must be so frustrating. At least you will never have to deal with her again. She may have decided from the get go that she wasn't going to return the item at all. Can buyers be dinged as well as sellers for this kind of behavior? That tidbit was in her latest resolution center responses, along with a lot of other strange stuff.. including some rambling bit about the item being sent to her 'wrapped with the word LOVE and hearts all over it'
(??!!??)
(Mmkay.. that would be the 4x6" packing slip, it has my logo on it & I jotted 'love this briefcase! thank you - CHG' on it)
I remembered that she also had included her phone number in one of her earlier resolution messages, saying to call her.
After speaking to eBay about the nonTracking that she provided - I took a deep breath & called her..
Worth a shot - maybe just someone with poor written communication skills.
Super interesting conversation..
As I was gently explaining that ebay needed an actual tracking number for the returned item she said
"I don't have a tracking number. I threw it out"
then demanded "DID YOU GET PAID? If you got paid, we are fine. Did you get your money?!"
I said "For the briefcase? yes - and I understand you do not like the briefcase, so I wanted to make sure you knew you could return it - or if you're interested in another briefcase, I have some others & could exchange it.. "
she replied
"No I can't return it. I dont spend all my time on eBay. I am busy. "
I said at that juncture - "I also did want to let you know about the hardware, yes Coach hardware after xxxx was indeed brass plated, they never advertised this change"
She said:
"Oh. Well then that's fine.
Never mind."
End call.
Can I start drinking yet?!?
If this is a buyer you don't think sellers should want to deal with (and I wouldn't want to have this kind of buyer), you can post here.Where did she post that? And I hope you're saving all the links including the ones to our posts here and to the Salearea Guides so you can send them all all to Ebay if she Negs you. And be sure to save all her replies to you. She's a nutjob and a troublemaker, not to mention a liar. (I can call her names, even if you can't.)
And make sure to post her ID somewhere here, I think BeenBurned can suggest a thread or two where poisonous buyers can be "outed".

Yes you can start drinking. It sounds like she thought she needed the tracking number of the original transaction in order to return it! What a nutcase! Does this mean she is going to close the case? The problem with the phone call is there is no record of what she said. That tidbit was in her latest resolution center responses, along with a lot of other strange stuff.. including some rambling bit about the item being sent to her 'wrapped with the word LOVE and hearts all over it'

In a way. Ebay started a new system called "report a buyer." I don't know if they do anything with this information. No one else sees who has been reported. Supposedly if a buyer gets a lot of reports, they might look into it.Holy crap! That must be so frustrating. At least you will never have to deal with her again. She may have decided from the get go that she wasn't going to return the item at all. Can buyers be dinged as well as sellers for this kind of behavior?

It's authentic. The interior is not suede, it is fabric. The Drake has suede lining. This one is a Madison Bristol.
