Several things look off to me. The turnlock looks like it has extra grooves on the inside. The edge of the back pocket looks too low. The stitching and piecing is very sloppy.

Sometimes you'll see a bag with a different strap than it originally came with. Coach used to offer alternate straps to customers, or the original strap could have been lost and replaced with a different one.
Thanks, whateve! I'm going to take a closer look based on your notes, and compare with my red Regina. Also, my red one was a hand-me-down from Mom. I'll ask if she had the strap replaced!

Hello Ladies..In need of your knowledge today. I picked this up for a rehab project but completely stumped. Overall this bag looks like an authentic vintage Stewardess BUT there are no numbers below the creed stamp. I assumed it being light color & old they were just worn down, but on close inspection I see no indication there ever was any stamp. Have you guys ever seen this in a NYC bag? Could it have been made for an airline? (Could find no markings to prove that) Before doing any work on it I wanted to get your opinion. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks as always!

Coaches of a certain vintage age could have had creed stamps without serial numbers. The bag looks like a genuine Stewardess bag.

Here's the inside

And is this the tag you wanted?

2005-01-01120025-1_zps9497cdf0.jpg

There's a tag inside that says "Made in China" and it has an X on it, but that's the only other tag and I couldn't get a decent pic of that.

I found a possible style number of F45548 but that didn't really make me feel better because I can't find it in this color and all the sites that carry the other colors seem to be fake.

The correct style number is on the tag under the red sticker. It begins with a Z. This color/style was made specifically for discount retailers like TJ Maxx so you might not find it anywhere else. I think the bag looks authentic.

It's authentic.

And this little MFF wristlet?
Also from Goodwill.
Approx. 7”w x 4.5”h x 2”d Strap drop 6.5”
Cashier said there had originally been a hangtag when this went on the floor...not anymore :(
Would appreciate name, age, serial number or anything else...Thanks, as always!
Authentic.

Thank You Hyacinth for your opinion and also the links!

Thanks ladies. Glad to know I didn't get taken.

But I still have another question if you don't mind. If the style/color was made for discount retailers, then what's the MSRP of $148 for? It sounds like they never intended to sell it at that price to start with - they intended to sell it at a TJ Maxx price all along. Which means that there was really no deal - I paid $60 for a $60 purse, not a $148 purse. Am I misunderstanding something?

Thanks.

It's definitely genuine, and from the late 1960s or early to mid-1970s - it's really hard to date the older ones. There might be a copyright date inside that little booklet but that would still give us only a general idea since they probably used that same booklet for maybe 2 to 7 or 8 years.

I don't have a name for it, maybe someone else will. But there's a similar un-named style in suede from the same period, pictures below
Thank you Hyacinth! Its almost like a small stewardess, although the shoulder strap is really very unique!!.. they weren't kidding about the smoke smell..omg! Buts she is in great shape, so not much to rehab, but it will take some long soapy bubble baths to get rid of the smell! If anyone knows her name, I would LOVE to hear from you! Enjoy your weekend !! Thanks Again!!! All the Best, Sheri

oops, I replied under my original question..Thank you Hyacinth, I am hoping to find out her name, I'll call her Mini Stewardess~ish pouch..or whatever my goofy brain decides, until we find out for sure! Enjoy your weekend! Thanks Again!! All the Best! Sheri

No copyright in booklet, the old tag has hand written purchase date of 7/7..sales #630..and was paid by chg..perhaps the madame had it delivered to her house! Wouldn't want to get her white gloves dirty...I remember shopping in downtown department stores with my mom in the 1960s,, then we would go to the dept store restaurant, and have club sanwiches & ice cream floats..with our white gloves... good times....ENJOY!!! SHERI

Hello ladies can someone take a look at this one. Is the N for plant in US correct? TIA

Desc. Coach Handbag
seller: kimba0512
item no. 271376491030
link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271376491030
No, I don't believe it is. By 1998, the N was being used for Mexico, and the "Made in.." wording was incorporated into the body of the creed at all plants. That is too late for it to have been put at the end of the creed. The placement of the straps and the main zipper pull are wrong as well.

ETA: In case I wasn't clear, it is fake and can be reported.

Coach puts the MSRP on the tags for bags they sell at their outlets even though they never sell them for that price. Usually the price at the outlet is 50% off the sticker price. Bags made for discount retailers are not covered by Coach warranties so they are a little cheaper. If you like the bag and the price you paid, then you got a deal.

I thought I remembered years ago some company getting into trouble for having items on sale when they had never sold them at the original price. I think these days it is considered standard business practice.
