I bought this today at TJ Maxx, and I'm sorry, I know nothing about it except that. I was all excited, but now that I have it home, I think it might be fake. The inside is fabric, and it has no creed or serial number on it, but I've read mixed things in other places - some say some of the smaller bags don't have serial numbers. Now I don't know what to believe.

Can you please help me out? Thanks

TJ Maxx sells authentic Coach but there have been instances of dishonest buyers doing a switch.

So far, the bag seems okay. Please post a picture of the inside of the tag as well as the inside of the bag so we can see the lining.

Hi, I've been following the Coach threads for awhile and have learned so much from all of the posts. I am finally dipping my toe in the water!
Can I get some feedback on this listing:

Item: Coach Vintage Handle Top Cross Body Mint Green Turn Lock Purse
Listing number: 291056379538
Seller: kimmiesclosetoyours
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vinta...538?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item43c44fe692
Comments:
What looks suspicious to me is the serial number--it looks like "H8K" and based on my research that isn't a valid number, unless some of the lettering has worn off and I'm misreading it.

Another question related to this style of bag, which I think is a Regina, is that I've seen it with two different crossbody straps. I have one in red (which I believe to be an authentic bag) that has a flat strap with a buckle. This one (and others I've seen) have a thinner strap with no buckle. Was the bag made with different straps?

Can anyone help out?
Thanks so much!

And is this the tag you wanted?

2005-01-01120025-1_zps9497cdf0.jpg

There's a tag inside that says "Made in China" and it has an X on it, but that's the only other tag and I couldn't get a decent pic of that.

ALWAYS!!
How about "in tact"
LOL.

And ware and tare!

I'm rather fond of "one in the same" myself!

My personal favorite has always been 'distraught leather & Coach Poopy' LOL

Here we have some 'Twitch claps'!

Looks like a good buy though if its authentic. Is it, please?

I can't find any valid serial numbers with H8K- prefixes. That K plant code is always a big question mark when it's in bags with US creeds, since by June of 1999 and maybe earlier it was already assigned to a Chinese plant. I'm not saying it's INvalid, just that I can't find any and there's no way to prove that it IS valid.

AFAIK, early Reginas all had tubular non-adjustable straps. If the strap style was changed, it would have been after 1997. I've seen one possibly genuine bag with a J8C- serial number and a flat adjustable strap, but by 1998 that style had already gone out of regular production so any made that year would have been limited-time, catalog-only or maybe even outlet bags, and using a current style strap would have made sense instead of the old tubular style. Anyway, straps can never be trusted when talking about authenticity even if they're permanently attached, since they can and sometimes were changed or replaced. I'd be interested to know the serial prefix on your red one with the flat strap.

So the serial number is questionable but there don't seem to be any problems with the other details. But you have another one to compare it with and I don't. Personally, the serial prefix would worry me, and the color fading would be another concern.

According to the item description it's a #9936 Bradley Bucket, not a Quincey. And we'd need to see the serial number and creed. The basic shape and details look right but the photos are really bad, which would worry me.

I found a possible style number of F45548 but that didn't really make me feel better because I can't find it in this color and all the sites that carry the other colors seem to be fake.

Several things look off to me. The turnlock looks like it has extra grooves on the inside. The edge of the back pocket looks too low. The stitching and piecing is very sloppy.

Sometimes you'll see a bag with a different strap than it originally came with. Coach used to offer alternate straps to customers, or the original strap could have been lost and replaced with a different one.

The correct style number is on the tag under the red sticker. It begins with a Z. This color/style was made specifically for discount retailers like TJ Maxx so you might not find it anywhere else. I think the bag looks authentic.

Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
From Goodwill yesterday.

Thank you so much for your help. I will post pics of my red bag and the serial number as far as I can tell--it is kind of hard to read. I'll do a more thorough comparison of the two bags as well.
