I have a bag I bought today, originally just to see how a lipstick got inside the liner but upon closer inspection, I think it's fake and I'm going to return it but I of course want an expert opinion.

Oh no! I am going to be sad if it isn't:/. I bought it from a local consignment store in my city! The lady is a coach fanatic and I think she bought this from one of her coach friends. The buckles do say 'solid brass' on the back of them! More pics to follow
Sorry, the "solid brass" stamping on the buckles proves that the bag is fake. Coach stopped using solid brass sometime in the 80's. A backpack supposedly made in 2002 would not have solid brass hardware. With that, plus the plant code indicating a different country than the creed says, there is no chance this backpack is authentic. I hope you can get your money back.

Last pic. Really hard to get a pic of the inside! But let me know and I can see what I can do!:) let me know if you need any more pics! Thanks

The "solid brass" stamp doesn't seem to have been used on real Coaches after the very early 1990s. In fact the hardware on newer bags is just brass-coated, not solid, because of the weight difference. Solid brass buckles wouldn't have been used in 2002.

I don't have enough photos of the proven genuine version to compare, but I'll try to find some tomorrow - or later today.

Fake inside pocket zipper pull, incorrect shape and stitching of the outside zipper's leather pull, very uneven stitching around the creed patch, and it looks like the top zipper ends are extended past the actual top opening and they shouldn't be, according to the other style 3602 Mini Sig Weekend Carryall listed on Ebay that has a "breakaway" zipper, NOT a full-length one (see the second picture below). And although your photos don't show the base clearly, it should have a leather panel and metal and leather "feet". Also the shapes of the "vertical" Cs aren't quite right. There also doesn't seem to be a record of that style until early 2005 in either the Wayback Machine or in Coach's catalogs.

The only other photo that might give us more information is of the inside taken from the top. Look at the ones below as examples of how to do it. They're taken in full light, natural light is best, and it looks like the first seller may have even folded over or pushed down the leather of the front panel a bit to get a better picture of the inside. We already have a creed pic but the area around the creed - the whole pocket plus the entire zipper and the entire pocket top to bottom and how it's proportioned compared to the rest of the inside - is what we would like to see if you can get one or two clear well-lit photos.

Edit coming up...

Technically a Checkbook Holder, not a wallet since there's no coin compartment. It's not really made in any specific style, but it looks like a style 4881, Checkbook Case with Tab. Mid-90s would be my best guess.

Ah hah...another mystery solved...is there any "rule of thumb" on where accessories of this era were made? Thanks, as always Hyacinth!

Good morning! Could someone please authenticate these bags for me? The information on them is as follows. These are all the photos that were provided to me.

"the bucket purse is about 10 by 10 the the smaller one is about 5 by 7"
