Thanks Hyacinth, The seller confirmed it is a B not an 8. I won the auction for 31 dollars so hopefully it's authentic. I am hoping to try to give it a "bath" as I have seen discussed here.

Ebay seller Silver-coach has a large selection of replacement straps designed for Coach. Here's a narrow strap designed for small bags with the smaller mini-bolt dogleash clip that's available in brass or silver hardware and your choice of color and length. The one you own looks like British Tan. Their listing also suggests the best way to measure the length you need.

If it's genuine, it's older than I'm comfortable with. Maybe DemRam or Whateve will have a chance to look at it.
