Looks like a genuine Convertible Clutch from around 1990, style number 9635
The seller's description is completely wrong. They're describing it as one of the limited remakes of old classics that Coach brought out several years ago but it's a 1996 Pocket Purse

It's genuine. Don't worry about things like spacing, creeds and serial numbers can only be compared to another bag in the same style made in the same month, year and plant

Thank you Hyacinth. Did not even notice the error in the style the seller used for the first one as I thought it was a dinky bag and have learned to ignore the names but this seller is really off.
Hi, can someone please authenticate this bag that I received in the mail? Supposedly it can be worn with a strap but I have only seen this bag with a belt or a strap (the bag part for 9826 seems very similar to this). Are there any bags with a strap that is similar to 9826 that can be used for this purse? Many thanks.

It's a style number 9826 Mini Belt Bag from the early 90s. I can't suggest any other bag styles that have a removeable strap. You may want to search Ebay for " Coach mini bag" or for a smaller vintage bag with a thin removeable strap you can use.
Ebay seller Silver-coach has a large selection of replacement straps designed for Coach. Here's a narrow strap designed for small bags with the smaller mini-bolt dogleash clip that's available in brass or silver hardware and your choice of color and length. The one you own looks like British Tan. Their listing also suggests the best way to measure the length you need.

They all look ok. I think the Sheridan is a Marietta Drawstring, style 4219 from 1993
