Last one (for now..lol) is a clutch/wristlet with strap.
I've had a few of these and the leather is different on this one,
very shiny and smooth - but I know that could be from overconditioning and wax polish build up, so tell me what you think. TY as always!
This basic bag looks fine. The leather could feel different due to a lot of factors, including overconditioning, shoe polish or wax. Sometimes different colors feel different.

It seems ok but wait for someone with more experience with that style.

Okay, so now that leads me to believe that THIS one I am showing now must be a fake because of the differences. Or could it just be an early version of the style, pre-serial number?

Good morning all - back to work!
I got a bunch of bags today and a few don't look right.
The first pair are messenger flaps, for sure one is counterfeit but I wanted to post photos of
the"good" one against the "bad" one so I can show the seller and also
I think it will help for others to see the differences.
The black is the fake, the brown is real (I'm assuming of course your determination is appreciated on that)
Thanks!
PS - notice the creed stamp shows factory "E" but it is made in United States?

Those are great comparison pictures - thanks very much! And you're definitely right about which one is which. The black one probably has a few more mistakes than we usually see on those E-plant fakes with the Made In the US creeds (or your photos show the differences more clearly than we usually can see them in the auction listings) and those stitching and construction mistakes would never be found on a genuine Coach.

To our authenticators and everyone who participates here...wishing you all a happy, warm and safe Holiday!

And for Hyacinth...and anyone else who archives pics...here are a couple of additional pics of my recent multi-purse in better (outdoor) lighting than before. The color is more realistic and the laser markings on the purse handles are more visible.

(Hyacinth...I hope you don't have to go out in the cold today...it's even chilly here today:)

Nope! The only "out" I'm going today is to move a few pots and storage containers "in and out of the extra freezer" a.k.a. the balcony. I just hope my Bailey's doesn't freeze out there!

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Holiday!

I can see how you would think that, but I've seen wide variations in the length and shape of the tab piece on the sides of the bag. I own a basic bag with a glued-in serial number that has an elongated tab, similar to your newer bag. The hardware is slightly thinner, like your older bag. This would make sense because the older bags were more likely to be solid brass and since that hardware was heavier (and probably more expensive to produce), most hardware on older bags is thinner. I used to have another basic bag also with a glued in serial number that had a short tab on the side like your pre-serial number bag. It also had thinner hardware. I don't remember ever seeing a zipper quite like that one. I believe both bags are authentic.

ETA: I didn't think I had ever seen that anchor symbol on the strap's dogleash clip, but in examining my NYC basic bag, it has the same symbol, but at the base of the clip near the swivel. How exciting to find something new I didn't realize was there! I've got to be more observant!

Thanks, I've added them to my "collection"! :D

Thanks so much! I was now convinced that the "real " bag I had (NYC) was a fake.
I've been learning so much and this accidentally taught me a lot.
Good to know they are both okay!
